There’s actually an official comic that takes place after Kong: Skull Island, called Skull Island: The Birth of Kong. In the comic, a flashback reveals Kong’s backstory. The Kong ape species have been fighting the Skull Crawlers for years before Monarch would’ve had the opportunity to make their own monsters. His parents, along with all the other Kongs, were killed by the Skull Crawlers. And Kong hated the Skull Crawlers ever since. AND during the end credits of the 2019 film Godzilla: King of the Monsters, a cave painting is shown, which depicts a Kong like ape fighting what seems to be Godzilla.

If it didn't account for the Kong Comic prequel - Kong was born on Skull Island, and the Kong species lived on that Island presumably the same amount of time as the Godzilla species, and all died in their war confrontation with the Skullcrawlers. The Kong in the painting in Godzilla: King of the Monsters isn't the same Kong from Skull Island, its a predecessor.

Yeah, unless they were products of the genetic experiments too, but given the timeline, for them to survive into adulthood they'd have to be there at least 40 or more years prior to the 1973 expedition (Kong won't be fully matured until sometime after 1973, cause he's gotta grow more in order to be on Godzillas level by 2020) and that means they'd have to have been genetically engineered sometime in the 20s or 30s...

That still wouldn't quite work. The only burrowing dinosaurs we know of that the study referenced were small herbivores about the size of a small dog, so unless you want to posit all possible Cenozoic non-avian dinosaurs as a bunch of small ornithischian offshoots (which would actually be a pretty entertaining spec evo idea) the idea's not all that feasible.

Not to mention if you saw Godzilla versus Mecha Godzilla II, Rodan gave Godzilla his life force, making him stronger and before that Godzilla took the power of a nuclear submarine making him way stronger. All of the power went to him and made him go into meltdown mode, possibly the strongest Godzilla yet. So I believe Godzilla’s thermonuclear mode is just a phase before meltdown mode, and it makes sense both of them released massive amounts of heat because they had so much power, so if Godzilla gets anymore power he will for sure be going into meltdown mode. *SORRY FOR MAKING YOU READ THIS*

The movie itself had shown the remains of Kong's parents. If Monarch ever brought mutated apes to Skull Island, they didn't bring Kong. He could still have been born from a duo of genetic altered apes tho

@@AtomicoMacaco his parents were teens in Kong years. His size is genetic, yes. But natural. Kong is already said to be a century old by the time GvK happens. His parents would have lived before Monarch was even formed. Not to mention how there were hundreds of other kong's fighting WITH his parents. Kong is growing thanks to his parents being the biggest and the strongest and thanks to how much solar and gamma radiation is left for him to absorb. With no Kong's to share it with then he gets it all for himself. This is why he is soo large.
