Thank you, friend! I think back on our photo walk conversation in Poland often and am so grateful for your friendship. Your videos have been so outstanding at teaching me even more about color work in FCP, and it's so exciting to watch your channel take off like a rocket. Keep choppin' those color grading vids! 🔪🥦

Hi Matthew! I'm glad I randomly found your video and channel. It's been a few years since FSU Film :)

I am totally sold on Hazy after watching this video. Thank you so much for the high quality demonstration of how this plug in can emulate hundreds of $ worth of glasses!

Love it! So glad Hazy connects with you. Enjoy using it!

finally bought nitrate through your link and code. Thank you for the great presentation. I am not yet super convinced I also need hazy. Just bumped it up to include the much wanted halation. I hope it keeps up to the hype :)

Thanks a million Matthew...love your Content. Do you have any tips and tricks for Us trying to make old (already imported) 8mm, Hi8, & Digital8 look better?
@matthewTobrienАй бұрын
No videos about it! And I’m early days in messing around with my standard def Sony Handycam and my 1080i Canon camcorder. If anything I always boost the contrast just a bit but mostly I leave it as-is because I like the look of it all straight out of camera.

What do you think about Dehancer? Is Filmcovert nitrate better or should I stick with it?

Cool, I have been using scatter in Davinci and this looks similar and good to know for FCPX
@matthewTobrienАй бұрын
Yes! It’s great to have this kind of filter emulation in FCP. I hear very good things about scatter in Resolve.

i have color finale 2 but don't love using it. If I wanted to use Nitrate as a color grading tool, at least for basic correction/grading, and skip the film look. Would that make any sense?
@matthewTobrienАй бұрын
I’ll be honest… I’m not entirely sure. I’ll have to open it up and see if you can use it to convert LOG footage to Rec.709 but disable the film emulation. That’s a great question!
