Did you see him in "The Accountant," as a mercenary? They're making a Sequel to that. I've never seen this guy be less than stellar in ANY of the movies in which I've seen him, even when he was playing a dumber role of the Loader, in "Fury." Best treatment of The Punisher on film so far. Only one real nit-pick: I don't like versions of the Punisher where he begins his career chasing down the gangsters who killed his family. In the original comics he is once asked if he ever killed the mobsters who slew his family. His answer was, "I don't know. It's been years; and I've killed so many." In my view that better fits the nature of his broken spirit and his hopeless mission.

MCU started off so well and at the Beginning they did the smart move and differentiated the shows for their audiences. You had R rated brutal stuff that was personal like Daredevil and punished and you had bigger more family friendly movies. It's mind boggling they stopped that differentiation. Like they could have done so much more and kept everything fresh. Like think about Asgard and all its story lines and history. They count have had family friendly fantasy shows, space adventures or even r rated game of thrones style show about conflict between the realms or even just within Asgard. And then there are all of the other hero story lines they could have done so much ...

That's why Frank Castle / The Punisher is my favourite Character in this Universe. He is an elite soldier with PTSD and no super powers. And since the Police Force / FBI / CIA are all crooked, he decided to take matters into his own hands. Sure, Vigilantism is not always the best solution, but since he is dealing with a corrupt system, it is the best way of dealing with the ones who wronged him. I remember a conversation between him and Daredevil, where Frank tells Daredevil that, when he puts them down, he makes sure they stay down. It was quite an interesting conversation they had after they fought.
