That cat was the girls lifeline. It's easy to tell. For me, my animals are one of the few reasons I can force myself awake in the morning. I am able to make myself do some care for myself around giving them what they need, I'd be in even worse shape if I didn't have them. I think it's the same for this cats' Mama. Thank you for helping them.

I'm super late commenting on this, but at 5:50 when Auri picks up the little jar and goes "omg what are those?", I'm pretty sure those are the (likely veterinarian removed) old cat's teeth. One of my cats, when he reached the age of 11, started to physically reject his own teeth and they had to be removed before they became infected. I still have his little teeth too, I can't bear to part with them, now that he's gone. My heart broke for this home owner, and I'm so grateful that Miss Auri exists and has made it her life's work to help people who need it.

Cases like this it isn't about not having the cleaning tools. It's about having the mental and emotional tools to be able to get out of the fog of depression. All the cleaning supplies in the world won't help a person for whom the idea of putting eggs back in the fridge is too overwhelming. Having someone come in and help you keep your house clean while you are receiving treatment can help the treatment go so much better though.

I'm slowly pulling myself out of my depression house. It wasn't ever this bad but was very cluttered and neglected with only the bare minimum of cleaning done so I could function. Today I am sitting with my front windows wide open in my ground floor flat so that everyone can see my beautifully clean bedroom and my nice tidy office. My home is by far from finished but I get real pleasure from the parts I've achieved so far and I chip away at a little more each day. Watching your videos has already helped me change my life substantially. This week I got my bathroom so clean after procrastinating for so long, I made a timed game of it like you did in one of your videos, and I felt sooo proud of it after. I cleaned away months of muck in half an hour and after I felt so good and realised it was much easier than I thought it would be. Depression houses happen I think because we are exhausted and overwhelmed and the jobs feel so much bigger in our heads than they actually are. You have shown that things that seem impossible can be achieved, and that there can be some real pleasure to be found in cleaning. I took delivery of a new vacuum this month and honestly it felt like Christmas day, I was so happy watching my carpets come back to life, I just wanted to play with it! I guess what I'm saying with this wall of text is thank you for giving hope and joy with the work you do, and thank you for showing us that nothing is ever as bad as we think it is xxx

She may not say it but that doesn't change the fact that these homes are unhealthy AND disgusting. Depression piles up on its sufferers but the conditions become so extreme that the filty in the house CAN kill the inhabitants. I'm certain that these people do not have children because I also suffer from depression (and this is absolutely no comparison) but as much as I don't want to get out of bed or even go to work some days, I and my son deserve a healthy home and good personal care so I swim upstream against the weight and despair because I loathe clutter and filth. These people are clearly unbothered by clutter and filth, it's not solely about depression. The least dirty house Auri ever cleaned was one of a single mother and the house was just untidy, not very dirty.

I'm barely over a minute into this video and while I don't want to be disrespectful, I whispered "holy sh*t" at least a dozen times by this point and started tearing up. I suffer from depression and while medication can and does help, sometimes it isn't always enough if you don't have a supportive person or group to surround and encourage you. I often let my personal space get so messy, I trip over things and get hurt. This channel has really encouraged me to take better care of that, and especially myself. This woman is a true angel and deserves all the love in the world. I also have a cat and he is one of my best buds.

@@nokiapile4741 We are not discussing a bout of dysthymia! I’m going to take a wild guess that you have never experienced severe depression. Evidently, you have never endured major depressive disorder. Just keep reading and you might learn something. If you knew the struggle of how physically draining it can be to use the muscles in your face to smile. Let alone the energy to stand up to get to the bathroom, brush your teeth or hair. These are just a few of the physical hurdles. The brutality of the mental side of this disorder is incomprehensible!! Death starts to seem like a cozy warm blanket. Me too! I hate seeing people get shamed or exploited for having dirty homes. It doesn’t get this bad unless there is a good reason. I personally have had instances where my living environment got really bad as well and I just couldn’t bring myself to get up and do it. I have lived with OCD, anxiety, depression, and ADHD most of my life. Sure people think “oh people with OCD are supposed to be clean freaks, but that backfires in a way. If I cannot do a perfect and complete job right now, the task is then paralyzing and I cannot do it. Combine that with my ADHD and the depression & anxiety and you can see why the roller coaster of extreme manic cleaning vs being unable to function happens. I then invert into my self destructive behaviors and shame cycle which makes nothing better. Having an angel like this to help make the task smaller and more manageable to maintain without public shame by those that don’t understand is a Godsend. I know it would be for me in my bad times. This woman is an angel walking the Earth I am convinced fully.

Now I get how things can get bad like this and how hard it is to do even the simplest things (like shower) and how overwhelming and impossible it feels when things get out of control. I hope you find the help, I know the feeling. I hoard items (not garbage, but materials like plastic containers and fabric and paper-cutouts) and I have found help, eventually, but the lady is about to retire. The lady I had before that, was réálly judgemental and would just walk through the room and throw away anything she could get her hands on, whether it was embroideries or a hairband with rhinestones or a pair of scissors. Anything she felt was dirty (which was interesting, because although my room is very full, it is also very clean and most things are in boxes.) I used to run after her and just cry and ask her to stop. It took a lot of time before I realised I was in the position to say; 'Go away!' and when I did, I felt a lot better and got the new lady, that promised to álways ask before she throws anything away. And she has. Because of her, I learned that it can be enjoyable to (slowly) search through the items and find things to donate. Sometimes the resolution is to buy something new, which (judgemental) people feel is weird. They tell me; 'Stop! Don't buy anything new!!!' But if I buy a new pair of flip-flops, I can donate 3 pairs that I don't fit anymore (but still wear) and I can throw one pair away that díd fit, but was too damaged and old. And keep one pair incase I need them. (Instead of having 6 pairs laying around that are all uncomfortable.) And, knowing how wrong things went with the first lady, it is important to always keep remembering that I am the boss in the house and that if I want to keep something, I can. And if I want to let go of something, I can do that as well. It gives me peace to know that and I can let go of items much easier once I know that nothing will be secretly thrown away.

You lose the motivation and will too live, you don’t even have any motivation too end yourself… I have major depression and I feel all the time, I just want too give up and slowly go rot away in a ditch somewhere because I’m so tired and it’s a constant battle that’s so exhausting. That’s why we don’t shower for two weeks, or do basic hygiene. It’s no ones fault that things get in such a bad state because I and many others can’t control how we feel, we can’t switch it off, it’s a fight too regain motivation too basically live. Not because we get to be entertained and enjoy watching her clean the dirtiest homes, but because it spreads awareness about what depression and mental health issues can do to a person's life. My room has gotten really bad on a number of occasions and I was so worried it just looked like I was being a lazy bum. This takes so much weight off my shoulders and makes me feel way less alone. I'm sure it also does for many others who see her channel. I'm sure it also opens the eyes of many family members and friends who thought someone in their life was being a gross lazy slob. THANK YOU SO MUCH, Auri!!! ♥️😊🥰

I suffer from clinical depression and other mental illness, right now I'm facing a very dark moment in my life and my house is very dirty and filthy, I feel bad seeing it in that condition, I feel ashamed when someone even knock to the door and want to take a look inside, but sometimes I'm not even able to get up the bed, I sleep a lot, it's like I don't have energy. Watch your videos help me and motivate me to push myself to start the cleaning, I'm not finished yet, I try my best and do the laundry and try to pick things up so I can see the floor. All I can say is thank you, for doing this things for people and not judge them. You are an angel. Thanks to those who read this, peace out

One thing I've noticed is when Aurikatatriina cleans she doesn't rearrange furniture pieces. She moves pieces and cleans under and around and then puts the furniture back where the homeowner had placed them. There is never a "this will look or fit better here". I really like that. I think that's yet one more mark of the immense respect and kindness Aurikatatriina has for every homeowner.

I have multiple diagnoses including depression, and my home sometimes looks awful. I can relate to putting my cat's needs before my own. She always has access to her food and water, a clean litterbox and a clear path. But it's also important to remind yourself that you matter as well. This was a great reminder. This gives me some motivation.

Also since I also have some figurine collections, I appreciate that you took great care of her ramune bottles and figurine collections. I was worried a bit that the empty glass bottles might be seen as trash but seeing you put them back makes me feel relieved. Thank you so much for your understanding too.
