I am blown away by how much was revealed in this trailer. They're going WAY deep into it and I am HERE for it!

And yet, they haven't REALLLLLY revealed anything. We know that Zack and Cloud are in some version of the timeline where he survives. We know that when he's carrying Cloud he's reaching Midgar at somewhere around the same time as events of OG FF7 given that Kyrie and Elmyra are there, we know we are going to Costa, Gongaga, Nibelheim, Mideel, Junon, Gold Saucer and a few other places but not going to Wutai, we know there's an expansive open world that you can return to previous places with later in the game and things change, we know there's team attacks and that Cait Sith is playable and Vincent is at least seen.....but other than that, the trailer does a WONDERFUL job of showing a lot of stuff but really answering NOTHING. Does Aerith die? Where do story beats occur and how many have been moved around? How can Tifa talk in what looks like the lifestream? Is Vincent pew pewy. How much does Bugenhagen know? Are there two Sephiroths now and is one Sephiroth (Realroth) trying to do the original reunion and the other Sephiroth (Futureroth) is trying for a different end? Will they conflict? Why is Hojo talking to Cloud and WHERE is Hojo talking to Cloud? Why are there Ascians in FF7!? SO MANY QUESTIONS!

Things wont pan out the same as OG and the order in which you go places will be slightly alteres. No wutai for example, as they are leaving that for part 3. Its supposed to start at Kalm, after a cinematic (end of trailer) which explains everything so far from remake and its supposed to end at the forgotten capitol (we all know what happens there). Which, if fleshed out as much as remake was, which it looks like, its going to be massive. Like beyond what everyone is expecting by a long shot. We have Weapons to fight, loads of minigames, chocobos to explore and find everything, battle arena, gold saucer... the 1st trailer shown an objective 11km away so its gunna be collosal! The only thing remake lacked was endgame content and superbosses. Thats not gunna be an issue here!! So excited :)

4 years of almost watching people say "this isn't my remake, blablabla, they changed everything, it's going to be shit", then they release a trailer and everyone is on board again. It's much harder to defend than attack something, but I really know one thing: people complain just to complain or because they are dominated by the fear of something going wrong. In the end, everyone is back to the hype, I'm growing white hair from seeing this, specially in this comunity.

If you're talking about me personally then you're looking at me so one-dimensionally. If you actually knew me or kept up with my streams you would know that I still have issues with story and character changes, a lot of them actually. The first Rebirth trailer I was completely upset with the realization that I was right to assume they were changing so much. Over time I've come to accept I cannot change what they are doing. I love the series and will see it out and see if SE can pull off whatever it is that they're doing. I'll probably have quite a few critiques as we see more as I always do, but this reaction is just pure excitement over seeing my childhood characters, locations, etc again. I'll wait to judge it fully when I actually play it, even still, I'm going to enjoy the ride.

@@VerryFinny The problem is they never marketed it as a "one-to-one" retelling of the original story. In order to validly review the game (imho) you have to first buy into that premise; that this is a remake in every meaning of that word. They literally are remaking the timeline; this is NOT OG FF7. That was the whole point of the Whisper stuff in FF7R1. What we have here (meaning the R Trilogy) is a sequel, not a retelling. If you can't start from that premise of "this is 100% a sequel, things will be different", then its difficult for critiques to hold water. It's fine to say things like "I would have done this character different" or "this character/story beat didn't hit for me", but what is not a valid criticism (again imho) is comparing the story of FF7 OG to FF7R1 and saying that these are "changes" in character or story and said changes are bad. They are not; they are the way the story was always meant to go when you have a Sephiroth from the future coming back to the present and fuxxing with Cloud. They are no longer changes; they are the way the story is meant to be told. I realize I'm probably in the minority here in being able to divorce myself from the OG's timeline to take the R series at face value rather than comparing the two. Probably comes from reading a shitton of fantasy and sci-fi novels as a child wherein time travel and new timelines were par for the course. But again, these aren't story "changes" or character "changes", these are the way the story and characters are meant to be, given this new situation they find themselves in.

"Reunion, the merging of worlds" So defeating the harbingers of fate was all part of Sephiroths plan..

Uh...yeah? That's why he's smiling when you "defeat" him at the end of FF7R1. Cause what you are actually defeating is the original end to the story. And i think it's important to point out that it wasn't Sephiroth's plan, but rather the plan of the Future Sephiroth (Futureroth) that's come back to the present through the lifestream. Real Sephiroth is still up in the crater. There are two Sephiroths now, and that excites me for the fuckery that will happen. (Another note; I believe that the Sephiroth that kills Papa Shinra is the Realroth projecting through his followers while Futureroth is the Sephiroth we see at every other moment of the first game).

Sephiroth finding a way to go back to the present and Aerith following him to stop him, creating a sequel to the entire compilation...The possibility that Cloud and Zack team up to fight UberSephiroth at the end of disk 3...the illusion that Aerith might live, the possibility of some of the Avalanche 3 still living (though I think Biggs waking up and Jessie possibly living is in Zack's timeline AND Marlene watering the plant is in OUR timeline). I'm just vibrating! lol

@@KharaChmiel Thats a fun theory but try not to state it as fact when it is all still fan speculation at this point. The actual story explanation might be drastically different to what you expect. The devs havent confirmed any theories and we wont know for certain until the game is out.
