It's still episodic. They're not sure how many games it will be total and they will be roughly 2-3 years between release dates. They said it at a E3 conference

@Dre huh? That's literally what I said... Lol. Of course they'll make a 2nd episode since the first game will end once you leave Midgard. Fans don't have to beg for more since it's a FF7 remake so they're not going to stop until the whole story is complete.

They haven't been thinking about the 2nd part because not even the 1st part is finished so fans won't force them to make a game that's incomplete to begin with. Why would they only remake a portion of FF7? That wouldn't make any sense.

The combat system is your choice. -turn based -co-op -in fight player switch I'm fairly certain it is episodic though. I thinks there's just 2 though.

They made Midgar a stand alone game and expanded on it so much that it’s worth 2 blue ray discs

This "first" game will take place only in Midgar and the story will be more deep with a lot of new events. The game size will be the same as a stand alone final fantasy game and use 2 Blueray disc. We don't know the number of part the game will have, but the last infos about the game said that it should be a cross generation game, and the Playsation 5 for what we know for now should be able to read ps4 games. :p

Guys, I say this with all due respect. When you see how much money and publicity ff7 got, they were definitely gonna do a remake of that before anything. Ff9 got a lot of publicity as well and they remastered it many times. It’s only recently square are remastering 8 which is showing the popularity levels. Don’t get me wrong, I like the trifecta of 7, 8 and 9 but in my opinion, it goes 7,9 then 8. Plus you man need to watch the video on how the combat system works - you can switch and slow stuff down to input actions

This game plays NOTHING like kingdom hearts. It plays similarly if anything to FF15 but it has more tactical elements and strategy. I encourage you guys to watch the gameplay presentation trailer.
