Agreed. This is something that is somewhat (although not entirely) unique within the acapella culture, and I love it. It happened throughout the series. Although not as dramatically as it did here.

@@philbrooks7103 I think this is merely the case, that it's not as dramatic in the other seasons because Pentatonix cemented themselves early on as the favorite to win (at Love Lockdown is when I think everyone knew) and then they kept getting better so the other groups, who were struggling clearly knew from pretty early on that they were competing for 2nd place or at least that PTX was going to the finale. Or at least had an inkling, they knew it would be them and PTX and the finale if they (not ptx) made it.

PTX is amazing, but it's basically a rule that the more people you have, the tighter your margin of error is. It's physically much harder to maintain and blend the voices of 16 people vs 5.

+skyekimi They are very good. I saw every show, and since de beginning was Pentatonix vs Urban Method, and then Aires was good, the typical acapella group. The others have no chance. But everything change with Video Killed radio star; and & Breakdown. In that moment, Pentatonix kill the other groups, and urban Method lost their confidence. I as surprise they didnt get the second place, but week after week Pentatonix kill them. Thats way Urban Method was so upset to loss and Aires was normal, they knew that they dont have a chance. (Sorry for my english, iam portuguese and my english its not very good).

They were all nervous before the results but Mitch was basically shaking in stress. I am glad that Kirstie held his hand and supported him, that was so sweet of her.
