Well done dude its some job to do on your own but sooooo looking forward to the finished job
@NicksGarageUkАй бұрын
Cheers,, it’s slowly continuing along now.. just need to prove it will all work with a trial fit before I take the engine back out,, needs a fair bit of welding doing

I've got a mk5 tipper that's been fully rebuilt and solid as a rock in blue single wheel with German axle that i drive daily and love it but it still needs a few little bits to make her mint but to find one that don't need welding is a miracle. I've had loads over the years but I'm keeping tabs on your build to do my own in winter but yours is the most informative build I can find and makes for a good watch. You don't sound too far from me in Bradford either

@KGBCUSTOMAIRBRUSH I’m not so far,, just in Manchester by the trafford centre,, I’m going to fabricate my own panels this year,, a decent job but not perfect and will pull it off the road in a few years for a full rebuild

Frigging heck Brilliant work mate, Id be interested in seeing the 3d printing of the parts you need
@NicksGarageUkАй бұрын
I’m not the best at designing the 3d prints but I will try and show some of the work that goes into it

Looking really good and the little bits like the air con looking tricky job and that w why don't u get some small gas welding rods where you can use a little propane burner on don't no it braze rods would do it just a idea that wiring looks a nightmare i could not do that my self good luck but its getting there and looking great
@NicksGarageUkАй бұрын
Tried brazing it first,, unfortunately the bmw pipes are so thin and low quality they melted before the rods,, Once I got better at tig welding it wasn’t to bad and I could probably do it again in a couple of hours (plus making the fitting again)

good job man.here the engine mount on turbo side that i seen is upside down.the rubber-if it pops.oil will go everywhere.they are oil filled buddy.also any swaps i do involving diesel i always buy a new set because they are bad for goin due to torque.and aged obviously.getting there though
@NicksGarageUkАй бұрын
I have a set of landrover v8 mounts for it ready to go on,, they are slightly shorter,, engine is coming back out to finish fabrication 👍

Pressurise the ac with compressed air to see if the clutch works
@NicksGarageUkАй бұрын
It is,, I’m not sure the pressure is enough though
