I push this Kayak to the limit inshore offshore in windy and choppy seas, reef wreck fishing at night, this kayak does the job, very stable offshore.

Not good, need a bigger rudder specially against strong current and wind.

@@skylaryoung3750 I fished with Ipster's yak, it's a good kayak for the price. Upgrade to Hobie Turbo fins, that will increase the performance of this kayak greatly. It is stable.

I just got the 2020 Hobie PA 12 w/360 drive, I had a Pescador pilot 12 for a few weeks, but when I saw the PA 12 w/360md I had to have it, so my son got a new kayak!

This requieres some thinking, I think the lighting offers more for less $$ but I would 100 % upgrade the drive, just like I would with the compass, that's the trick how do you upgrade the drive on the lighting, you can add turbo fins

I would of been impressed with this kayak a year ago but with the Vibe Shearwater 125 coming out next month at the same price point and loaded stock with more features. I just don't see anything really innovating here.

Bring back the "old" Hobie Outback. Not sure why Hobie discontinued production. The lightning looks like a solid package but nothing innovative. It will be interesting to see how the hull performs as it is a quite different shape to the current Hobie Outback.

Lightning Kayaks should consider changing their name to Fobie (Fake Hobie)! It appears that instead of doing their own engineering, they just copied the latest Hobie Outback, added a few changes and called it a day!🎣😃

I agree. The drive and lock in is the exact same as a Hobie. At least make some changes to the designs. The front hatch, the round hatches, etc.
