I think you've got that sound bang on. He's done a top job with that exhaust. The sound range is perfect rumble at low revs and snarl when opened up...
@kev-the-windsurfer.4 жыл бұрын
That is THE best sounding 308 I have ever heard!! I would stick with that exhaust and let it soak in because I think the more you drive it and listen the more you'll like it. Its so very noticeable even on video how much better it sounds. I also notice how much more responsive the engine is.....That exhaust guy has done a great job, and its great to see you enjoying the car so much, I get like that driving around in my 348, its a wonderful experience when everything comes together like that..... Looking forward to seeing this quick rack going in......that will totally transform the car!!

Great to see your joy at this success after the earlier tribulations. She does sound better with the gentle pops and crackles on the over-run. I do look forward to hearing even more “Ferrariesque” tunes after the future airbox work too. Lastly, I was particularly taken by the image at 11:21 as you pulled up by the camera. The sight of the iconic five spoke alloy and that shapely wing pointing down the open road was super. Good job, well done. Keep it up 👍

I wouldn’t mess with the exhaust my friend. It’s unique to you and the influenzo, i know what you mean about the Ferrari Howl at the top end but realistically it’s only the later higher revving engines that do that! It sounds just right.. I love pops and bangs... just enough to scare the postman or the cat! As soon as the rack is sorted and your sill you will truly love that car.. she’s a keeper. Don’t take the flu vaccine... 😆😆😆😆

Really coming together now. Sounds great to my ears (over the laptop speakers admittedly) and once the sill is done it should look the part too. Glad its staying red though...

I paid a fortune for a centre section exhaust from H&S. No-one could see it but I knew it was there. The Influenzo sounds great. So good that it's starting to reward your attention.

Indeed, mine was a Subaru - a 3 litre Legacy. And a friend who worked for Prodrive got me a discount on a pair of their tailpipes which looked very shiny and purposeful.

Sounds great. I'd play with the carbs before messing with any exhaust mods to improve the top end howl. All that popping and banging is a sign of a rich engine.

Sounds amazing. You’re right to be so happy. The exhaust note can change the entire experience of a car. I just changed the exhaust on my 135i and now it’s visceral - reminds me of the 1950s and 60s cars I used to drive. Really enjoying this series. Thanks for sharing

Exquisite sound! A proper Ferrari V8 sound. Congrats to Reef exhausts and Ryan for a superb job! I know exactly what you're still looking for though, some sort of high-frequency bite at higher revs. I know the feeling of finally having a good sounding exhaust, since I now enjoy a Borla on my Stinger, which was nearly silent before despite having a 365hp twin-turbo V6 engine. Enjoy your new Ferrari on the back roads of England and thanks for sharing, Jack. Looking forward to another captivating episode of the Influenzo series.

Do I ever know that feeling ! I own a 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT. My baby for the last 29 years. With the original Chevy 2.8 V6 used in many, many commuter lowly sedans. But the boys at Pontiac tweeked it to get every hp possible - rated at an (official) 140+ - but with a tuned exhaust. Not an easy task on V6 engine, usually a basso type of sound. But did they ever done it ! It sounds a lot like your 208. I never miss to listen to it every tunnel I cross. Lovely "angry" sound at higher revs. Pure joy. Very early Sunday drives, when the city is asleep, I go out and enjoy. I'm 68 now, with painful lower back problems and other health issues, but I cannot decide myself to sell it as my doctor and family tell me to do. I'll die in it ! Enjoy, friend !

That sounds lovely!! Like the 308 should sound. I remarked on the James May video where he's bashing the car that there is something magical above 4 thousand revs when that Ferrari "howl" kicks in and how addictive playing above that rev range is. This is the sound I meant, although I think you said 5 thousand but even so, that's the sound that we all associate with the 308 series cars from the GTB/GTS the Mondial and then the QV cars. I'm very happy you got your Ferrari's sound back!! Happy days and B roads!! Please keep your journey with the Infuenzo coming, I'm fairly new to your channel and am just catching up!

I've been waiting to hear the difference... it was worth the wait! You must be thrilled with the sound... the Influenzo just gained an increase in fun factor! Good for you! I think you nailed the word... Scream... there's nothing like the sound of a Ferrari on song!!!! I think the sound you're hoping to find will continue to elude you... it's hard to get the wild Ferrari scream out of an 8 cylinder engine. But, what you have sounds absolutely brilliant... especially for an 8 cylinder! Keep these videos coming please... but next, a nice tour through the countryside as a request... :) Cheers from British Columbia!
