You’re so lucky that there’s no quarantine period and therefore so easy to take pets with you… plus Chloe’s a calm traveller! (If going into Australia, it’s 30 days at the airport kennel!) I’ve been watching all your videos from the beginning to recently!! Just love watching such a a kind gentle lady!!! You have such a great friend and a handyman. I plan on getting a chateau in France. All of my ancestors came from Europe. Moms is full Norwegian and my dad from England and France. I have royal blood running on both side of my parents!! I have a strong pull to France. Charlemagne is my sooo many great grand father. William the conqueror also William Cecil who was the most trusted advisor to queen Elizabeth 1. And so on. I’m sorry about that I get carried away on that stuff. But I’ll be doing my search for a chateau on my own. My husband passed away. So I guess thats why I watch you. It's so fantastic you back , I was a little teary when u were driving up to the Chateau it's been a while . Chloe such a good little traveler. Sad theres been a few problems with leaks but I do know Franch has had a few winter storms and at least u have found them , and can get things fixed , roof check is a must . Love your videos . ❤

did u know that in France every job that a trade do must be guarantee for 10 years...so keep names, pic of the person, all the job description done , all details dates, cost, etc...If you do (DIY) repairs and u sale ur home before the 10 years and something happen...u can go back to the ex owner and sue them...and they will sue the trade...Love it!! I wish in USA we have something similar...

May I suggest that you buy an oil filled radiator which you plug into the mains socket. They are great and heat any room in no time. Very efficient. Do not buy a blower type of heater, please. They are for obvious reasons no good. Have fun and enjoy the lovely sunshine!

I had a 100 year old farm house in NC. What I went thru was nothing compared to this. You have a job ahead of you . Or should I say adventure. It life. Live it! My daughter's name is Chloe. 20 year old student at UC Berkeley. Cute dog you have there. Good name. Why would you ever leave there? Looks like you have dwarf crested iris coming up around that big tree. Lucky girl. Also, I know it's a huge chore but you have to get the ivy off the trees. It will kill them.

I can feel your joy arriving at the Chateau! Unfortunate surprises with the water damage however I’m certain repairs can be done the only place to go is onward ! A small pool wood be beautiful the views are stunning I can imagine the fresh air and soon Spring will show all of its glory as young sprouts are already peaking through! I need to come back to France and be a caretaker for one of these projects! I lived in France for 20 years and have been back in America now for about 3 years and miss France. Speaking fluent French can help so many that are moving into these projects not be taken for a ride from the French doing the repairs, they see you have money double go the prices!

60 f is 15-16 Celsius, still chilly but warming up. Everything is looking so nice and serene. The grounds have had so much work and look tidier. Enjoy your stay. It will be hard to leave. I hope all goes well for you and you achieve what you set out to do. You can divert the cave mosquito pool to water an existing garden bed and do a small pool area near that or a free standing one with a solar fountain.

4 metre x 5 metre fibreglass form plunge pool 👌 fibreglass form not too heavy like concrete pool. Lots of people use those types of forms here in Australia and cheaper than concrete form. Also use magnesium to treat water in pool a little more expensive for magnesium against the cost of chlorine or salt but great for the skin unlike the salt/chlorine.The area would look lovely with glass fencing around the pool and some nice low foliage e.g. flowering bushes/shrubs. Just a thought. I've subscribed and will definitely keep watching your channel to see how you go with all your renos. Oh and by the way wire mesh attached to reno bars concreted into holes drilled deep into top of cliff then spray concrete over mesh. It will hold great as long as you have weep holes in sprayed concrete wall to allow water to get out from behind sprayed concrete wall. Cheers

Go to the pool supply and put a chlorine tab in that mosquito pond /puddle. You can put one in the broken gutter as well. It will kill the larvae so the area doesn't get overcome with mosquitoes.

You need to find Dan on KZbin channel @escape to rural France. He might be able to advise you about that wall. I think you need to cement the wall above your side building. You probably need to do it to the wall supporting your land. I’m guessing you may need an engineer. It’s such a lovely mini chateau. 💗💖💓 Your dog is adorable. 😉☺️😉

About that small room with the tile roof, why not go ahead and fix its roof, since apparently only one tile has been broken in how many years and it should be relatively easy to repair compared to stabilizing the whole cliff face. The cliff has probably been peacefully exfoliating with temperature changes for centuries and need not be considered a problem. Just sweep up the rubble occasionally and enjoy its natural eroded beauty.
