That is a handsome chickshaw. You and Gina are great carpenters. I laughed when you said "she's rustic" about the ramp; my father used to say that! He was super handy making things and inventing; had some patents. Another lovely video. I so enjoy them.

G'day Al. Idea for the chicken compost heap. Imagine the square made by the fence around the coop. Now if you start dumping composting material in one corner for the chickens to process. Then when you move the coop rotate the fence around the compost heap, so that it acts like an anchor point for the moving chicken run. Then tighten it up to just the compost area in winter. So in spring you start the process again in a different area and you have the compost to mulch the garden and greenhouse. Let the chickens do the work of mixing and managing your compost heap.

Good Afternoon from Los Angeles. You guys are so inspiring! I wish I were younger. I would have loved to homestead. I’m 54 and have RA so I think it would be difficult to do now. We will be moving away from here to Gilbert, AZ when my husband retires in about 7-8 years. I hear Weed-em and Reap live out there. I am hoping to have some chickens, a garden, fruit trees and berries. I do have a garden here. I love watching you guys and watching how you grow as a family. Do you think you’ll have more children? Thank you for sharing your life!❤️

Great build. Love your attention to detail, especially in the measurements. Everything comes together beautifully at the end with no mistakes. A safety concern: Perhaps cover the sharp open edges of the handle in case you get too close if you need to go to the controller.

I wouldn't have thought that y'all's garden would have done as well as it has this fast. I've always been curious about green houses and skeptical because most videos don't show a regular progression of the garden, it's always a before and after. Well it's usually just the after with no before filled full of technical information, y'all kept it simple and understandable.

Al, while you were showing your new chicken tractor, I was thinking you could cut out the handle section of the nesting boxes, and that way when you collect the eggs you don' t have to remove the whole nest box, just reach in and get the eggs! Otherwise great job on the improvements to the " shaw". Justin has already put the handle on the other side of his shaw and has his door on the back. He also added a hitch to hook up to his runabout vehicle. Both houses look great!! I think the chickens will love it! Hopefully they all get in before the door close, it is soooo slow! Here' s to happy chickens and God Bless!

You all did an awesome job on the chicksaw. I think Justin would be proud of the changes and finished product. The garden is looking good in the greenhouse and in the covered raised beds. Everything is calling into place and you are filling your log for Winter. Filling the log is terminology from the movie Over The Hedge. We use to use it when our son was small, so he would understand that we were putting up food for Winter. Still loving your channel and still watching daily.

First of all, thank you for such a nice escape from the madness of our world. I truly appreciate the work that goes into producing these videos. A rare earth magnet would be strong enough to hold the feet but if it releases during transport you might snatch it off the tractor. If you have to clasp it in the down position it does not seem like a big deal to clasp it in the up position.

Dear Lumnah Acres, don't waste your spinach just b'c it bolted. This is a good thing. If you can set a space for growing wild spinach and you will have early spinach weeks before you plant. My grandmother had it growing thru the snow by the creek and it was the best I have ever had. First thing we ate out of the garden besides winter onions was bolted spinach. You can gather the seeds from them too and never have to buy again.

We have lost hens and a rooster to skunks trying to get to get to the eggs and opossums have just gotten in and killed chickens by pulling their heads off and only carrying off one to eat. The worse was when I had to pick up about half our half grown chickens and their heads. We finally got that one as it was coming out of a small gap under the door. So you're very smart to look for ANY small gap.
