to search for meaning or to not? & what does that even mean... who knows? heres my take tho, i hope you guys enjoy! Love you guyss❤
@e.globulus Жыл бұрын
Maybe searching for the meaning is the meaning... No other animal is searching for the meaning of life. Also, no other animal knows that it's going to die. It just dies... It can mourn (like elephants do), but doesn't realise that its existence is finite. Plato (in Phaedo) defined philosophy as the study upon one's own death (on the fact that i will also die one day). Pondering the phenomenon of death makes one think about what is good, beautiful and meaningful in life. So in a sense, thinking about the opposite of a situation (death as opposed to life) helps you understand life better.

@@MichelleGia I understand. But darling you are so young, you're wise beyond your years. In 100 years we're all going to be forgotten. Go after your dreams, if you don't have any that's fine. Just be yourself. The days go on, our time is limited. You look like you're in your late teens early 20s. Like me. I'm still young and I still don't know who I am yet. My parents have given up on me.

hey michelle! i know this video has been out for a while, but it popped up in my recommendations and i couldn’t just pass it by. i’ve been following you for a good while now, but somehow, i’d never stumbled across *this* gem of a video. i just wanted to let you know how crucial and valuable your content is. it's not only a comforting, warm hug, but it also resonates on such a deep level. especially in a world where i sometimes feel like an alien, surrounded by people who don’t seem to question things the way i do, you know? i’m always "the obsessive philosopher" in my circle, constantly poking at the deeper stuff... and that alone can be exhausting. but thinking about it all? reflecting on it? that’s a whole other level of mental marathon. and, seriously, your eloquence is otherworldly. you manage to articulate thoughts that have been tangled up in my mind for ages, and you express them with such clarity. it's like you take the abstract and make it tangible. like drawing constellations out of stars that others might overlook! also, you’re unintentionally hilarious, which just adds to the charm. and no worries about losing your train of thought! honestly, it makes things feel even more real and relatable... at least to me! ;) ps: the unholy scream of laughter i let out after 5:43? absolutely priceless.🐝

Thank you for your videos, they provide comfort in this messy world. Been binge watching since your quitting social media video which I just quit a week ago. I digress, i feel that your 'meaning of life' changes at different stages of your life and that there is no 1 solid meaning for everything. For me, it used to be making good connections but as im starting my journey of self-love, my meaning of life right now is having a good relationship with myself. Keep making great content ❤

As a person who tries to find meaning in life.. It is really hard, because we are emotional beings and our emotions can make us change our perspective on something you are passionate. And then sadness and disappointment comes to haunt you. I think that the quest for meaning is good as long as your learn a lot about yourself. For instance, I learned that I won't be a good father, because of many reasons. So I won't have kids. I ruled out many ideas that society told me to follow, and now I am free to choose my own path. Also expectations, be aware of those things.

That's like exactly the Video i Was looking for. I always struggled to find Meaning in life and i always wondered why we are here on this planet. But i start to think that the solution is not to think about it. I think the best Option we have is to just live our life and find our personal meaning and way of life because the happiest people are always the ones who don't think about life in general so much. I know that Was a long comment but maybe someone takes his time to read the whole text. Whoever reads this stay healthy and get happy in life, i wish you the best

And one thing you touched on, that I would like to add input, so something I agree with, which Alan Watts has stated that even though we have this human intellect and we question the reason why things happens and try to find meaning, but he said that "the pressures of life, the goods and the bads are apart of life so that we get lost and involved in it, and if we did know what would happen in the next moment, there would not be a point in living at all. Now I think life ultimately has meaning or not if you can see that everything has an order to it and is balanced. If you know that there is a creator of the universe, then there is meaning, and then you see that the path that we individually take was the exact path we were always supposed to take - Carl Jung spoke of this and the fact that there is a creator. And I think if you view life from this perspective of what I have mentioned above, then there is no doubt about the life that we individually live. It is supposed to be the way it is. Even if we can't make sense of different moments in our lives, that doesn't really matter because we were never supposed to understand everything. Afterall we are not 'all knowing', we are just experiencing this human condition in this moment, until we die and one day we may never know we even existed, or maybe we will. I think our lives are like the breath in meditation, in one moment we are aware of the breath, in another moment we are lost in our thoughts and are no longer aware of the breath, and in another moment we are aware of the breath and can actually control how we inhale and exhale. They are all different scenarios in different moments, but all three can happen. You can relate this to life as a bigger picture or on a small scale. Hope my perspective gives you a different take on the purpose of our existence. 😁🙌

I love to watch your videos. You look so pretty and your voice is soothing!♥️ Btw, my thoughts about this video is that; in as much as we all believe that we were created, then having a real and meaningful relationship with our creator will birth our purpose. For example; A carpenter knows the purpose of creating a chair. Same way, God (who's our creator) knows exactly why each and everyone of us is created. All I'm saying is, we all have a purpose which is unique. And we can only find and walk rightfully in it when the creator directs us. We don't have to stress about 'purpose'. We only need to ask the Lord and he'll tell us all about our purpose and the reason we exist :) Excited about your next videos!🥺

BOOK RECOMMENDATION for this TOPIC: About the adventure to understand the meaning of life and living harmony with ourselves, I recommend the very famous book of ZhuangZi (Chuang Tzu), the book of Taoism. His philosophy is a slightly different from Laozi (Lao Tzu). While Laozi tends to teach Politicians on how to manage their country, Zhuang Zi's philosophy tend to help individual people like us - a normal/introvert person... His book name: The Book of Chuang Tzu.

We're flooded with information, but it's often fragmented and isolated from anything specific. This is not a gen z specific problem; from books that I've been reading, it's been happening since (at least) the telegraph and photograph dominated modern newspapers. Technological differences have exacerbated the issue, but we can hardly isolate gen z as the sole maleficiaries of this technological deluge. I think many people struggle with the feeling that science strips the world of its magic and mystery. In my opinion, I think there's always possibility to find magic and mystery even with a scientific 'understanding' of something. Take something like gravity - we know the rate of acceleration on Earth is about 9.8 m/s^2; ok but why? Why are the cosmological constants *those* specific values? Why do things attract at all? If Einstein is right, then *why* does mass bend space-time? If there is a graviton, then *why* does their exchange attract masses? Science only gives us a model for certain underlying mechanisms. If you ask why enough times, science runs out of answers, and so in many ways we're stuck back at knowing nothing (as Socrates correctly identified). In these gaps there is ample room for mystery and wonder, a new mythology of sorts. Where am I going with this? Well, I think science runs out of answers because maybe there is no definitive answer to "why." We're searching for something that's not there. To bring it back to the bees (it always comes back to the bees), they don't need to ask the "meaning" of honey. Chimps don't need to ask the meaning of bananas. As far as we know, we're the only ones who ask the meaning of life. We're the only organisms that have fair dinkum, bona fide language. Why? Is there a link between language, metaphysical questions, and consciousness? Dunno, I'm no genius. At some point in history we invented 'meaning' as a concept, and we've been trying to find it out there (outside of this mind) ever since. It comes back to "know thyself". Who am I and why do I care about meaning at all? Sounds like you've been asking yourself the right questions. Sorry for the extended ramble.

After this life there's an eternal happiness with Jesus, who is offering this to you now. This life is meaningful because you can accept or refuse your salvation. You don't know when you will die so I advice you to not waste your time but show to God how much you love Him. He has a plan to prosper you, a specific and wonderful purpose for your life. Do you want to discover it ? You can read the Gospel of John first and after the others gospels. I hope that will help you. God give me hope and joy. God bless you❤
