@JamilaMusayeva I know your video is 11 months ago BUT what does etiquette say about someone who is left handed or even ambidextrous. I drink with my left hand and my son does as well. We are right hand dominate but it feels weird to drink with my right hand. Are there exceptions to etiquette for left hand dominate or ambidextrous people?

One time a large group of my friends went to a fancy restaurant and the waiter didnt come take their order for a whole hour. They were discussing this aloud when a kind fellow customer informed them that they should try closing their menu. As soon as they all did, the waiter came to take their order.

Good lord. 😂 the waiter might have guessed the issue and at least came and asked if they had questions about the menu.

My husband was fortunate to inherit 19c china, crystal, and silverware. When we have dinner parties, elderly friends know the bone marrow spoon, the fish knife, butter knife, and various spoons, etc. it is such a joy to "dine" at one's own home with linen table cloth and napkins and candle light. Such times are diminishing but why? These experiences are very special, romantic, and induce good conversation! People quaff, gobble up, eat fast, and do not dine. Dining is an experience itself! We can advance and enjoy modernity AND retain vintage styles! Thank you for educating us on etiquette!

Good vid i always enjoy watching ur videos very calming and usefull, beautiful content from beautiful classy lady. I wanted to mention 37:37 here that if u r a muslim its only okay to eat the food with ur right hand and not the left so most of us use the american way even if its less classy or requires lots of movements or we just precut everything in the plate keep the knife in our left hand to collect the food on the fork then continue the same way

First of all your videos are amazing and really helpful . And I have a request that you also make videos about eastern dinning etiquettes as well , because as an Indian I have seen many non- Indians trying Indian food and most of the times while eating Indian food one have to use their hands , so many people don't know how to eat it properly and they ends up eating it in the most improper way possible for example using both the hands , which is not acceptable ( for some exceptions) . So please if you could make a video about it .

Hello Jamila! I've been a dedicated viewer of your content for over two years, and I truly adore your work. Thank you sincerely for generously sharing your thoughts and knowledge online. Your content has become a valuable reference, significantly raising the bar for my own behavior and how I let people into my life. I find myself in a much better, happier place now compared to 2-3 years ago, and your success has undoubtedly played a part in that journey. :) Last year, I enrolled in your online course. I love how it gets straight to the point, is beautifully shot, and I'm eagerly looking forward to more courses on your website in the future. it's a bit embarrassing to admit but there is one thing I still do wrong and I just don't know how to fix it. Certain foods, like groats, rice, and finely chopped vegetables, are very challenging when trying to follow the correct fork-holding technique. I wonder if I simply need more practice, if the meals could be served more conveniently, or if a different approach is needed for these types of foods. It just all falls down from my fork. I often see people eating these kinds of food using forks like spoons, and I give up and do the same thing. Since now I am aware it's poor manners/ incorrect, I always feel embarrassed even if I am home alone and no one can see me. It would be incredibly helpful if you could create another video specifically addressing how to eat these and other challenging foods correctly. Your content is invaluable to me, and I can never get enough of it. Thank you once again for your inspiring work! Marianna

😃 FANTASTIC!…. Unfortunately, especially Here in The USA, Etiquette and Polite Manners have become as rare as Good Credit. Both of the basics were far more customary until the end of the ‘ Baby Boomer ‘ era and traditional family gatherings occurred around dining room tables.. Nowadays, witnessing Others eating in public is like watching a Viking feast.
