Hi @OfficialJayRandom you are assigned one ssn and it cannot be changed. A crime using a ssn would be an identify theft situation and you would be the victim so it would not impact your reporting in that way. We will do another video. Thanks for the great question!

But they also want $50-$112 which I’m not able to do so I’m not sure what’s going to happen. Hi @Byron As you are a minor ask your Mom to help- SS is not required to take your driving test- so do that and you will have a photo ID if you don't have a passport. The driving ID and birth certificate should get you the replacement.

Hi @CC sorry for your situation. Please don't freak out- you can get a replacement driver's license from your state agency. For your social security number you have your w-4 that you gave to your employer and your state and federal tax returns which contain that information as well as the signature card at your bank where you have a bank account. Just go and get a copy and then get your social security card replaced. Order your free credit report online now and then do that again in a few months to see if anyone has used your information- or tried to use it. Check all bank statements and credit card statements carefully and report any errors. Good luck!

Hi @Cameron. Every person should regularly check their credit report - that is the best way to know what is going on. It shows not only your credit that is assigned to you but also inquiries - that way you know what companies were checking your credit and if you did not authorize that check then it indicates someone else was borrowing your information.

Hi @Shruthi - sorry for your trouble but agree - do not mail original documents. FedEx would be the only way I would recommend sending anything that important and require a signature. However that means someone would have to be available to sign and it sounds like they are telling you no one is at the office so their suggestion to mail is not a good one. Social Security is a federal registration so you are not required to deal with your local office. If one of your nearby states is more 'open' you could check with them and see if their offices are taking appointments where you can visit in person. Most of the restrictions seem tied to the election so you could wait until mid-November and it could be easier then. Having the card is not a necessity- you know your number and that is all you need.

Hi @Angela Our info shows that the sticker means that your green card renewal is in process and so still valid. Because the social security people and immigration service are both federal agencies it is likely that social security will know about the sticker situation so you should be okay if you want to get a replacement social security card now. Or wait until the new green card is issued.

Hi @Abbey You will need a current photo id- see if you can get that from the driver's license bureau- not a driver's license but a state issued id. That is probably the hold up here since you have your birth certificate and the ss number. You might call the ss office to confirm this was the reason for the denial (if they didn't send a letter explaining).

Hi @Justice Your parents will need to obtain duplicates of your original birth records and if they obtained a social security card for you then apply to get a duplicate or help you apply for the first time if that was not done before.

Contact each place where you lost your id or had it stolen and begin the process for replacement. They each have records so it should just take time and some effort but you can do it!

Hi @Desiree - sorry that happened. It is not magic in that way - but you should order a replacement because that indicates that you have lost your original one and will be a good record as to the time htat happened. Then you should be sure to get your free credit report - you can order one for free every year. Check it and make sure the accounts on there are yours. Thank for the great question.

HI @Roy - great question. The application is available online for a replacement card- they don't actually let you submit it online. To submit the application you can mail it in OR go to your local social security office.

Sorry - the fastest way is to go to the office. Mine came in a week. For the grant - ask if you can provide some other verification- if you have a social security earnings statement or a copy of the top of the first page of your last tax return or a copy of your last w-2 (with all info showing except earnings blacked out)
