Y'all should do a top 5 favorite baits of all time. The top 5 baits you use the most during the year without letting the other see what each picked until the final unveiling during the video to see if you both choose the same baits. 5 baits you each couldn't do without. You could also do a 5 big bass baits and a 5 baits just to put numbers of fish in the boat

I caught my biggest smallmouth, largemouth, and spotted bass on this technique this year. One in winter, one in spring, and one in summer. Y’all posted a video about swimbaits last winter and this has really been a bait to pay off for me

This is also perfect for taking kids fishing! It can be sized to their snoopy/princess rods, the constant action of cast and reel keeps them moving/interested, and the numbers along with multiple species causes excitement and fun.

Hi Matt and Tim can you do a video on the different types of bass speices? How to tell the difference between a large mouth and a spotted bass and why some bass have dark eyes and some bass have clear eyes And in general the their respective typical behaviors. I have learned so much from you guys, you all are awesome!!
@lakemeadguy56215 жыл бұрын
I saw your request, Im no expert but spotted bass have no seperation on the dorsel fin, whereas largemouth does. Also look for the spots on the stomach.
@shorlineslasher58075 жыл бұрын
Oh cool! Thanks!

From my understanding Spotted bass also have a small patch of teeth or rough spot on their tongue too.
@uncleheffe3095 жыл бұрын
Think of a spotted bass as a medium mouth, it is literally a smallmouth bass head on a largemouth body. Take your hand and cover the head or the body and see. I truly believe they are largemouth/smallmouth hybrids.
@jamesbarron12025 жыл бұрын
@@uncleheffe309 A largemouth/smallmouth cross is a meanmouth bass. Spotted bass are a total seperate bass species and not a cross. Spotted bass also cross with smallmouth also considered a Meanmouth bass. My home lake 5 minutes from my home has broken the last 4 meanmouth Texas state records in a row

I would be very happy to host a visit from you guys here in Idaho. Bass fishing can be dificult. Cold high country reservors. Not much bank access. High pressure at the few access points. This year is the year I learned to catch fish for real. I learned it almost all of it here on your channel.

Underspins are way underrated on swimbaits...I always seem to catch more fish on the bait with a blade. Awesome video as always man.

Me and my gf did pretty well from the bank over the weekend. I was using the manns 1- shallow crank. My lady was using a small flashy swimmer and 3.3 kietech. I was covering a lot of water and she was following up behind me. If I didnt catch one then she would when she followed up behind me. Biggest of the weekend for me was 4.25lbs and she caught a 4.5lber. It's amazing how hard the fish fight in this colder weather in California.

I have been fishing this for years up North in the Spring. Dynamite on smallies. I like to use a football head and let it sink to bottom, lift the rod tip to 12 clock and let it fall while taking up slack slowly. Usually get it on the fall.

A little variation to the underspins, I add a clip-on spinner. It adds flash and a different vibration to the lure.
@michaelleake3535 жыл бұрын
I use this technique often to get a little more free play out of your lures tie to a snap and use that on your lures. I believe it's an " Owner all purpose snap" in size 0 or 1. Also make it easy to switch out baits.

Save your money and get a few packs of mister twister 3 inch curly tail grubs. Chartreuse with a 1/8 oz flo orange jig head for stain water. Cast parallel to a rocky shoreline with a slow retrieve and pop them out and on top of rocks. In spring time nothing beats it for smallmouth. Caught largies this way too.

Im gonna try something this spring with these little swim baits, pick it up till my rod tips at about 45 degrees, then keep it there till I feel my bait almost stop and let it slowly drop, I think this would be a deadly finesse presentation with that tail just barely moving as the bait slowly swings towards the boat
