Fear Factory - Demanufacture is how you do a second album. Their first album was pretty good industrial death metal for the time, but Demanufacture upped the grooviness, the production value and Seabell's vocals were on the whole, much better. It's technically not perfect, the Dog Day Sunrise cover is a bit out of place, but in my opinion it's still a masterpiece, one that Fear Factory themselves have not been able to top.

Also the snippet in the video is F tier. Dude Ranch (Blink-182) Top of A or Bottom of S Into the Unknown (Bad Religion): F Perseverance (Hatebreed): Ngl I haven't listened to a single Hatebreed song. Snippet was great, playing was very clean for a hardcore album. Waking the Fallen (Avenged Sevenfold): A Meteora: S Iowa: S G N' R Lies (Guns N' Roses): B but only because Patience carries. People use the gamer word usage in One in a Million as a way to diminish one of the most beautiful rock ballads ever written a few tracks prior. Hot take but separate the art from not only the artist, but also the controversy. I say this not to defend the usage of the word, but that one track with a lot of controversy shouldn't affect anyone's opinion on another track free from it. Of the ones I've listened to: 1. Fall Out Boy should be on the next sophomore album list. I love straight-up pop punk of Take This to Your Grave. They improved their songwriting 100 fold for From Under the Cork Tree.

Music for the Jilted Generation by The Prodigy...no, it's not rock, metal or punk but it's a stellar album and still their best. This is when they transitioned out of their candy rave phase and started to incorporate darker elements of electronic music paired with trip hop and grunge. All round banger and loved by music fans everywhere. Ready to die on this hill... If you haven't watched their full live set at the Phoenix festival in '96 (readily available on KZbin) I suggest checking it out. You won't be disappointed. The amount of energy is mind-blowing. They damn near nearly caused a riot at the end 😂

I've heard you mention the vandals, but I didn't know you had them ranked so highly on your personal list. I was very late to them, didn't get it for a long time but it sort of just clicked for me at some point. I guess when I started to appreciate punk that didn't take itself so seriously.

I think it depends on the individual, regarding Hybrid Theory and Meteora, I like Hybrid Theory more because we got reanimation but Meteora had popular songs.

Hybrid Theory has the better deep cuts Meteora has the better singles

I don’t even like 311 like at all but that first album they put out is damn good. It improved my drumming a lot. Some of the sexiest grooves I’ve heard.

I remember seeing Hatebreed a bunch of times in Meriden Connecticut in 1993-94 at a place I used to work called The Hanover House Jamie and the guys were always cool and put on a hell of a show for a room of 100 pll at the 18+ shows they used to put on I'm happy they broke out of Connecticut and went Worldwide ✌️🧐😎🤘

Please talk about 311 sometime. Id get grief from my friends that were stoners for liking hardcore and metal and then the hardcore and metal friends couldnt fathom why 311 was my favorite band.

My personal favorite sophomore album is Deja Entendu by Brand New. Went from a generic sounding pop punk band to one of the best post punk bands ever imo.

I thought I was the only one that knew Underoath’s “Act of Depression”. It’s a short album, but I revisit quite often. Lots of breakdown variety and very enjoyable to listen to, give it a listen!

there is no better sophomore album than Siamese Dream - The Smashing Pumpkins. Almost perfect the entire way through, and somehow their third album Mellon Collie was still considered their best work.
