i feel like a lot of characters are actually different in the fiona and cake universe, prince bubblegum seems like less of a tyrant, marshall lee seems edgier than marceline ever was and so on, even fionna is not 100% like finn, she's not mindlessly going around trying to find a boyfriend like finn did with half the women he meets in the show. So i'm hoping the series isn't just adventure time but genderbent and it'll explore some of the characters since they just seem like individuals who are slightly inspired by the real deal, except LSP, fuck him

The way Marshall Lee was portrayed is kinda reminicent of Marceline and Finn's relationship very early into the show, back when she was more of a morally ambiguous prankster with a very dark sense of humor. Pretty much everything we see of Fionna and Cake has a big season 1 vibe.

It’s worth noting that as it is revealed in the last fionna and cake episode, that fionna and cake stories are literally Beamed into the ice kings head at night (perhaps from old radio broadcasts of the show picked up by his crown or something) fionna and cake are not genderbent finn and jake in the ice kings mind, but unrelated “original” characters. I do think that every other character does probably just see it as weird fan fiction.

Well, I heard a few times now that it is not a tv show but somehow a real alternate universe that somehow was picked up by the Ice King and the Rabbit Girl. I am confused since the show makes big hints towards it being a TV show. So I have no idea what is going anymore. Most of what is shown in the show itself is fan fiction though written by different characters.

I'm in the minority that actually likes Fionna and Cake Adventure Time. I love alternate realities in shows, movies, and just in general. I even started making my own Adventure Time alternate reality where everything is more serious. The fanfiction is goofy and weird, but I still like it. If this actually does get a continuation I think they would make it halfway different. Like certain plot points might happen earlier or mostly different than it's original.

The actual episodes are either partially fan fiction or entirely fan fiction and the bunny girl that dresses up as Fiona didn't catch a random satellite signal but saw into a different dimension. I feel a movie would be a good midway point to extending adventure time and ending some loose ends. . The show would have a final moment that sort says that even if things aren't how u wanted them to go. You keep going and hold onto that hope because without it. . It just leaves u empty but what goes beyond one point can sprout off I to others. . I don't know how the show would handle it but a movie could definitely bridge a temporary cross over in universe. . Im not worried about the Fiona and Cake series. I believe it's going to be further lore building and a universe hopping adventure, similar to Farmworld (Finn's wish for the Lich never existing universe). If you remember, it's established that the Lich's hand was copied into multiple universes by the end of the episode Crossover. The version of the Lich's hand that went into Finn and Jake's universe was defeated by Sweet Pea by the end of the episode Whispers, but we still didn't see what happened to the other copies in the other universes. If this is the case, its going to be very promising and may also develop Simon's character even further!

There was an article about upcoming CN projects and there was a report about a screenshot for the Fionna and Cake series. From what I could remember, I believe Fionna was older (somewhere in her early 20s probably, since Finn has always grown with the target audience, it would make sense Fionna would follow suit) and it seemed like she was in a dream sequence of sorts? It was reported that “they” (probably both Fionna and Cake) have woken up in another world with no magic, and without their memories

Granted I need to see it first when it comes out. But I'm not sure how a Fiona and Cake show will do. When the first Fiona and Cake episode first came out, it was special because it was a cute (mostly} one-off things, it felt like a little treat to the fans that love making genderswapped fan art. @@CarlolucaS Let me start with I'm in the camp that believes Fionna & Cake's reality is or was once, real. The bunny lady comes to the conclusion it was an old tv show, but it's most likely because she only saw the adventures of Fionna and Cake through a TV screen. Ice King's fanfic delusions of the Land of Aaa are very likely filtered through his insane mind writing them off as dreams at first. And since the multiverse is a topic the upcoming show will touch upon, the Fionna and Cake of that series *might* give us a window into what happened to the counterparts that Ice King and the bunny lady saw and dream of. Also, I believe the Fionna and Cake universe that Ice King has twisted in his fanfics was destroyed by GOLB. This is a segway into Puhoy's Pillow World. If you've seen the Chronicles of Narnia, things don't have to be explained much. Ooo and Pillow World are out of synchronization and Finn reverted to his age back home because that was how he was when he left it. When old Finn died, he actually bumped into GOLB. It is my belief GOLB may have destroyed Pillow World. This could have been a similar fate that befell an iteration of Fionna and Cake. The only thing I cannot solidly theorize on, is how the Fionna and Cake Transmissions tie into this.

50 shades of Grey Mr Grey was Edward technically from twilight I here. Me thinks that was the most recognized fanfiction in the last decade. I didn't see the movie or read the original work but that's what the people tell me. I dunno there were several film franchises I watched as a completionist not necessarily a fan. Harry Potter twilight and hunger games come to mind and I'm definitely not plugged into fanfiction circles so maybe the Harry Potter one is more recognizable to the Hoi poloy.

Perhaps the spinoff is because Pendleton Ward essentially went into Adventure Time just... winging it. There was not too much of a plan from what I understand, but it had to go somewhere. And since it's too late for them, perhaps they're trying to have a more complete/better thought out story line with characters we will recognize.

Has your opinion on Fionna and Cake as characters, since they reminded me a bit of Miles Morales since the multiverse is used to tell their coming of age stories and to distinct them from their prime counterparts (Peter Parker and Finn and Jake), furthermore they are seen as anomlies by the villians. Did you think that Natsha Allegri should have been involved since she did create the characters and she may not be okay with Muto putting them in a non-magic setting.
