"Graviteam Tactics: Mius-Front - tactical battalion level combat simulation. It is a sequel to Graviteam Tactics: Operation Star and Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943.
Game is comprised of two modes:
Operational - turn-based mode where you can shift and concentrate forces in the chosen directions, resupply and replace units, repair and refuel vehicles.
Tactical - real-time mode where you are conducting fire combat with the enemy, capturing territory, destroying vehicles and the enemy manpower.
Four large-scale operations for the Red Army and Wehrmacht with realistic organizational structure. The campaign features more than 100 detailed vehicles produced in USSR, Germany, US and UK. Over 140 sq. km of realistic landscapes were reconstructed from topographical maps and photo and video materials.
-New enhanced UI: streamlined interface of various panels, radial orders menu and other enhancements.
-Interface appearance and customization: three variants of appearance are included, customizable unit markers (Red Army, Wehrmacht, NATO).
-High replayability and advanced AI, which selects the best strategy based on behavior, not a predetermined script.
-Advanced management of forces in the operational phase: reinforcement strategies and management of reserves.
-Statistics keeping: performance of each unit is recorded (kills, losses, awards, etc.). After each battle, damages and condition of forces and vehicles are shown in the after battle statistics.
-Battlefield simulation: realistic vision devices, smoke screens and flares, creation of trenches, explosion craters. Remnants of previous battles remain on the battlefield until the end of operation.
-Realistic soldier behavior: each soldier has several essential parameters, such as experience level, stamina and morale, which influence their behavior and effectiveness.
-Detailed weapon modeling and realistic ballistics: bullets and projectiles follow ballistic trajectories, taking wind, temperature and other parameters into account.
-Advanced armor penetration: modeling based on ballistic histograms without simplifications of probabilistic methods, generation of secondary fragmentation fields takes into account many parameters, such as the change of the field shape in space, fragments and armor characteristics, armor thickness and damage conditions.
-Complex vehicle damage system: engine, suspension, sights, weapons and targeting mechanisms can be damaged separately, affecting the combat capabilities.
-Destructible environment: almost everything can be blown up and destroyed, from landscape surface and buildings to vehicles and enemy defensive installations.
-Advanced control of the off-map artillery, featuring various fuse settings and shell types.
-Formation and movement modes: lines and columns, movement by road and covertly, infantry following behind tanks, setting a delay, fire sectors, etc.
-Automatic smoke screen laying: units set up smoke screens when enemy is spotted.
-Dynamic change of the time of day, light sources and weather effects, influence the course of battle, visibility and area passability."

The second instalment did not disappoint! Although you are concerned with the resilience of your infantry, they seem to be holing up just enough when well supported or committed at just the right time. It might be a different matter if the AI isolates them to stand alone in a battle - but I suppose you now have the room to fall back if that became necessary.

I´m greatly concerned with my infantry most of them have very little fighting experience and are therefore not very effective.

Love to see it. Ive been following since the last series cant wait for more. Maybe a South African campaign?

I get so many requests for a South African Campaign, I really should do it :D I´ll probably play a SA campaign when in the timeline we come to a battle that plays out near Kharkiv. I really want to avoid playing a campaign that takes place within Ukraine while the war is still raging there (I know I messed up with the current campaign).

There were 4 battles for Kharkov during WW2 i think. The game so far covers 3. Also if you are going to play modern wars with Graviteam you could try Steel Armor. It has the Iranian and Angola campaign in it

Might be a really bed idea, But I would deploy the motorized infantry already in their trucks so they will be ready to response to the AI ally whims.

That could work, but the AI has a tendency to not wait in the trucks. They usually prefer to get out

I wish they would fix the issue infantry not getting into trucks when there is room. Very frustrating when you need to move them quickly.

LOL good observation, although I suspect that the massive incendiary artillery barrage did the most damage to my framerate.

Question: why did that artillery unit of yours attack the two enemy battlegroups?

The Allied AI troops had an Artillery spotter with them, who called in the strikes

Haven't we won now? They are locked in "spawn" and you can't attack out of spawn in any of the operations I have played at least.

No I don´t think so. I would need to block off squares 2-9 to 2-4 and 3-9 to make sure that they can´t leave their deployment area and I don´t have enough Battlegroups to do that. If I had direct control of the allied units, then yes, that is exactly what I would do. Although, the DLC has been updated with the new mechanic that the deployment area can be used in a battle (I have yet to see how that works) so maybe they could still attack out of it. I don´t know. It is still possible that the first two turns have won us the campaign. We outright destroyed 5 Infantry Battlegroups without taking significant losses ourselves. That will seriously hurt their abilities to attack. I´m just a bit concerned that we didn´t see any heavy weapons yet. I fear they will bring them into the battle next and I won´t be free to maneuver with my tanks.

@@Tonci87 yeah, surely there can't be much of a infantry presence anymore the first two turns were such a bloodbath. Even that one tank went into a frenzy and ignored orders to basically go into melee with the enemy, lol. Must have been a cavalry leader in his previous life too.

@@Coinkidoink I´m very surprised that the tank crew survived that stunt. Sure the tank is damaged, but the damage can be repaired fairly easily once it is within range of a repair unit. I´m really incredibly lucky so far

@@Tonci87 I don't think the panzers would have survived being disabled that close to infantry, maybe the panzer IV I suppose. A testament to soviet armor and the sobering reality of German anti armor options early in the war I guess.

@@Coinkidoink Any Panzer III or IV would have been grilled by soviet infantry and their flammable liquid bottles. German Infantry is just really quite helpless against armor at this stage of the war. I suspect that the tank ran into some pioneers, those have AT mines and blast charges. Against normal infantry, possibly nothing would have happened to it
