For what its worth, I dont post much so these guys made a life long customer/friend out of me. I had my 05 cummins trans grenade after a shop threw in a bad u join for my drive shaft. Bought a comp stage 2 and installed it with a new correct U joint. Well that previous one hosed my drive shaft yolk so needless to say this one failed again and corkscrewed the back end of the new Firepunk trans. I gave Firepunk a call and told them my story, they overnight'd me a new overdrive cover no questions asked. On my way home I stopped by Firepunk for my 1k service and paid for the part and waited for the service. This family couldnt have been nicer. Sitting on a comfy couch waiting, they offered me coffee and I got to talk to Lavon about trucks and he gave me a tour of the shop, the builds, and the trucks. These guys are the real deal. Best trans and tuning ever and very accommodating to teaching and questions. Buy Firepunk! They got me out of a tough jam when I was home on leave after training and got me back on the road fast!

Jared those 6.7s can spool some big setups too, and the 48re trans are arguably the best built trans you can go with. Quicker shifts and less rotating mass than an Allison. But I still chose to build my lb7 and I love it. Spools a single s480 very good

I had a Golden Nugget in my last truck. It was perfect. I had a lot of friends who tried to save a few bucks and go different routes with their transmissions and they always seemed to have trouble. Mine was flawless. I will be a customer for life. Current truck is a 6 speed otherwise it would have a FirePunk transmission in it no questions asked. I had a line blow that was made at O'Reillys. The fitting blew off. We didn't know what happened Took the truck up to FirePunk and they diagnosed the problem and fixed it for basically free. Awesome guys and an awesome product. I wish every business I dealt with operated with as much integrity and with absolutely no greed lke these guys. They are great to work with and very very trustworthy. Nothing but good things to say. Humble is an understatement.

*You can keep your quad cab i needed room in my truck so i got the MEGACAB and you wouldn't think that adds much to the overall interior but it actually does for both leg room over all space. The back seat can be laid down to sleep in if need be too and once the rear seats are laid down flat to the floor there is enough room in back that you can put a full sized mattress back there. Of course i care nothing about the whole "race truck" aspect like you have going on with your rig. mine is a purpose bought hauler that i don't have to do anything to except keep the fluids changed in and drive the hell out of it. I bought mine last October (2018) it's an 06 Mega cab with 172,000 miles on it that I shrewdly negotiated the dealer from $14,650 down to an even $9,000 for. Since buying it i have sunk a total of Maybe $1,200.00 into by putting ALL LED lights in it, inside and out and i replaced all of the Ball joints and tie rod ends in it as well as putting her on a strict turbo diesel Synthetic Mobil 1 diet.I also replaced most of the AC as well. i kind of would like it to have a little more horse power when towing heavy loads but over all it's a great truck for what i need overall* *It may go from 0 - 60 EVENTUALLY but it also keeps on climbing well after that point also. Light loads i usually bury the needle on the speedometer most of the time i am driving it on the highway. of course i don't daily mine either, its strictly a towing rig. I have 3 Escalades for my wife and i that we daily. 2 EXT's (trucks) and an SUV. i do think i could MAYBE benefit from either a larger turbo or maybe even later on a combination turbo set up. so that the factory takes care of the low to midrange torque and power, then the big boy kicks in for the top end of the power range and i get steady power throughout the pedal range. Those kits are expensive though. I would also like to eventually (before it becomes a problem) bullet proof my transmission so i don't have to hear crap from my son in law when it does eventually go out on me. He's a huge ford fan which i can't stand and he's constantly spouting off about his super dookie like it's some kind of bullet proof option when i and everyone else with any sense at all knows that is not realistic in any way, shape, form or fashion. Honestly i would still rather have a Duramax but until such time that i can get a newer one this will do nicely*

I personally need an 8’ bed so the megacabs are no good for me. My buddy has one and they are great for road trips but you can’t fit even a golf cart back there and close the gate.
@DaddytechEnt5 жыл бұрын
@@jaythewhizdog3842 yeah i catch hell for that from my neighbor too about mine only having the 6 foot bed. but it still works for me because if i need 8 foot i can haul with the tailgate down for like plywood and such and just run a strap down the middle to keep everything in it. I usually tell him that's why i have that ball in the middle of the bed, hook up the trailer for anything that long lol not hard at all to slide up under the 5th wheel ball with this thing
