The disgustingly sad part of history is that most of the men who actually committed war crimes and mass executions like what the Soviets did at the katyn forest massacre during WW2 or the Babi Yar holocaust of bullets in Ukraine by the Nazis, never saw justice or punishment for their deeds. Most of them ditched their uniforms after the war and moved to small towns across Europe disguised as civilians and lived their lives out peacefully raising families and never paid for their crimes. You will hear stories about Nazi hunters and how after the war they tracked down a bunch of these guys but in reality they only caught a handful out of the thousands of people who actually participated in these genocidal acts.

That looked like such a realistic shooting scene. It captures the reality of it so well. In real life a firing squad ain’t pretty. When a person is shot they slump and fall to the ground, lights out, that’s it.

This execution scene is actually from Akershus Fortress in Oslo. The name of the film is "Max Manus".

What most movies and even WWII footage don’t often capture is that death is not always immediate - imagine being stabbed by a rapier but very fast - some hitting vital organs and others not.

I thought a group of guerillas would come out and shoot the German soldiers to free the prisoners. But this scene is probably more realistic. Maybe this group of German soldiers will pay for it in other battles? Anyway looking forward to your new videos mate!

Look, I see 3 striking things: No blindfolds, and people are not tied to the feet, this still gave them the opportunity to run away. And the German officer is from the infantry and not from the Polizei / feldgendarmerie. What the hell is going on here man!
