Yes, Violet is a very awesome supporter of Polin and I absolutely love it! Her lines were absolutely perfect to Colin at every point that she made to Colin....Especially, when telling her son that Penelope was going to get a proposal from that annoying Debling!

Portia undeniably loves her girls but she also low key uses them to further her influence and power. She got Prudence and Philippa to marry kind, but also naive men to still have control over their lives since their husbands are too afraid of her and since Lord Debling was going someplace else far away, she had hoped that she’d have full control over his rich household through Penelope if she had married him. She definitely wants her daughters to have secure lives but she also wants power over them and the whole of society as well. She’s a controlling mother who’s a realist but also ambitious.

@AGEE_95 her story needs more setup and a little more time, if they're following the book at all. A certain couple of characters need to be a little older, a certain event needs to happen, and after that event happens she writes letters over the course of months. There's no way they would sandwich that into the next 4 episodes. I think the event will happen the beginning of next season and she will be the subplot hiding in her room writing the letters. Francesca will also be subplot.

When there is a feeling of "oh I feel bad for her" when it come to Cressida, I just remember how she singled out and bullied Penelope (spilled her drink of Penelope's dress, making fun of her for how she dresses when she wears clown dresses herself and stepped on her dress). I hope this is not one of those making excuses for the bully and the victim has to be the bigger person trope. Crap like that just makes excuses and normalizes bullying.
