First Day in Switzerland | Eurotel, Montreux | Lake Geneva, Switzerland

Although we do love France, we had never been to Switzerland and could not pass up the opportunity we had to visit. As part of our latest trip to France, we visited friends who live in Chamonix, which is right on the border of Switzerland. So we decided to spend a few days in Switzerland. I (KJ) researched where we might visit, since there are so many beautiful areas to choose from. We had heard that Lausanne is beautiful and almost went there, but then learned of this beautiful city called Montreux that is located at the opposite end of Lake Geneva from Geneva, and decided to go there. Montreux is an easy one hour train ride from Geneva and it certainly did not disappoint. The view of the Swisss Alps is incredible and the walk along the banks of Lake Geneva was really spectacular. When sick, people used to go to Switzerland to recover. Some (including Swiss) said that's because it's stress free and boring. Zzzzz. It's the Singapore of Europe. I hope you recovered well enough to enjoy the rest of your visit to Geneva and Montreux. Thank you for sharing.

Love your videos. Montreux looks beautiful, fantastic view. I'm told Vevey is also lovely, and has a food museum which I'm told involves chocolate! I like my sweets too. I couldn't help but notice your vlog is no longer KJ and Tony Move to France, but KJ and Tony Love France. Have you decided against the move? And if so why? Switzerland is a nice alternative, but of course extremely expensive.

Makes me want to go back there. While visiting Lausanne, I took the ferry to a few towns, on Lake Geneva (Lac Léman). Evian, France is on the other side of the lake. 1 day I walked around Montreaux a bit. Very pretty, but a bit too quiet for the 30-something me (that was over 20 years ago). Hehe! It’s definitely a great place to visit in the summer.

August is the most expensive month in Europe. Prices are doubled. They didn’t pay more than 200€/night. Please don’t use August as a year round price basis
