We both enjoy your videos. These days there are so many bad shows. Watching your channel is a breath of fresh air. Next time you go to Switzerland, go to Lauterbrunnen and take the cable car up to Murren, then hike down to Gimmlewald. Unforgettable. We’ve been to Europe many times and are there now with you vicariously.

You must have overlooked the pass as it is in all literature for tourists. It combined with an On/Off bus allows you to do what you want when you want less inexpensively and not a lot of walking. BTW, there are restaurants (Le Ciel, for one) and a few hills that give a fab view without the climb. For me, the river Seine views are great and some surprise restaurants.

You might really enjoy doing a French class in person at the Alliance Française….is there one in Florida near yours ? Or an intensive week at the Sorbonne for foreign learners (FLE). Lol the first time I drove in France was from the 16th to the 9th arrondissements and had to drive around the Étoile , Arc de Triomphe . 😮
@kjandtonylovefrance3 күн бұрын
I'm going to check into local classes, as that sounds fun. It also sounds like great fun to be in a car and get to drive around the circle of the Arc. We did this via Uber a few times, but would really enjoy being behind the wheel at some point.

Parfait. Learning a new language is not easy. Good for you ! I used to say bien fait which translates as well done. But in French it’s sarcastic to say this. It means you got what you deserved. Eeks. Glad to see you are enjoying Paris encore. Merci

Great video. Quick French tip: When our son was learning to speak, my 🇫🇷 MIL sent us lots of children’s books & a (then) primitive tablet with simple French language programs for very young children. If you can get your hands on things like that, your vocabulary will blossom as to the basics. The Museum Pass is great, although the Eiffel Tower isn’t included. Bon courage et bonne chance!

Glad to hear you had a good experience there. I did not. I had so been looking forward to going, but the night in question I got caught in traffic. I called to say I was running a few minutes late. I was told I would still be seated but would have to wait b/c they would give my original table away. As a single traveler, I would have been fine at the bar. As it happened, I arrived a few minutes EARLY. I approached the maitre'd and explained the situation. He shut me down, told me I'd canceled and said there were no tables available as they were booked solid! This, despite the restaurant being largely empty. As a New Yorker I'm always double prepared. I had printed the reservation before leaving home. I pulled it out of my bag and offered it. The maitre'd literally tore it into 100 pieces and threw it to the ground before stamping his foot! (It was GREAT French theatre) He then directed a waiter to seat me in the "American" section, where the sole table waiter spoke excellent English, robbing me of the chance to use my French. I found the service good, the meal mediocre and the ambiance a bit dull. I sat next to a terrific couple from the Carolinas who were staying at the George V. I asked how they felt about their meal, and they suggested the same. A nephew, living in Paris at the time, said he went there a lot for lunch and found it less stuffy. Oh well, maybe next time I should try Ralph's?
@kjandtonylovefrance3 күн бұрын
Sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience. Hopefully this is not the norm, in terms of the way they treat Americans! I can't imagine it is because every time we have been there we have had a great experience.
@ashershaham6 күн бұрын
Why do you waste so much time on issues of reservations? Tell us about the food. And, there is nothing French about the place and the food, this is a classical trap for wealthy Americans who have difficulties in interacting with the local culture and habits.

Fractional ownership is just generally a bad idea. Think about it. It's very attractive to buyers who could not otherwise be able to afford a whole property. Your now part of a crowd that in many cases may not have a lot of substance behind them when it comes to putting on a new roof, etc. Look everybody's living with different circumstances and I'm not making any judgements, but do you really want to be depended on a group of people you don't even know, perhaps speaking multiple languages, with different cultural practices and unknown financial means? Up to you, but perhaps not good advise to promote to other.
@kjandtonylovefrance3 күн бұрын
Yes, agreed. We are not really interested in any type of fractional ownership. We will either rent or buy. Initially we plan to rent to make sure of the area we want to live in before we buy.
@jonmaher25317 күн бұрын
On fractional ownership, what happens when one or more of the fractional owners are complete slobs and trash the place. There a huge bill and they won't pay, so you are stuck. There is an agreement of some type, but you end up in court because they fight back. Etc... It always sounds good on new or rehabed property, but when the shine wears off, its usually trouble. Not enough history on fractional ownership to say you always make a profit on resale. Let think about the time-share example and the nightmares people are still living. Point being, you might want to avoid the pit falls of this type of ownership.

When in Rome, etc. quid Paname! I don't doubt the quality, nor the vibe. It can be amusing to check out home style references in a new context. This is not my type Paris though. There are so many more typical and atypical places much more to my liking, much more "intime". But hey, you really enjoyed this and that's what it's all about, n'est-ce pas?
