..Back in the early 80's, I did 3yrs in the Army working in the Transport dept with access to an inspection pit, tools and compressor. We were all at it, and when I left, I got into small repairs and engine tuning in my mothers' garage. I remember cusomizing a Ford Capri 3.0L E, K Reg, '71. It took me 6 months. It turned out very nice, dark Burgundy with flaired arches and a crushed red velvet dash and door cards, huge tyres and TWO bright yellow radio ariels front to back and massive spotlights on the front bumper. Was a good looker for back then. Can't believe it would be 53 yrs old now..!! Fond memories indeed.

I was with you until the two yellow ariels! Ha ha! ( I had five Capris in total back in the seventies, absolutely hooked on them and fortunately I’ve had some nice Fords since then too) - Did you have a CB radio then?

@@philtucker1224 Thanx m8. Yeah, I really enjoyed working on that. I loved it. They were a fantastic looker... and so it was time to sell it, and I put it in the drive with a @FOR SALE@ sign on it , and this guy knocks on the door wanting to have a look at it. I go outside and OMG, you should have seen HIS Capri..!! It was absolutely awesome. You've never seen anything so beautiful in your life. Obviously, alot of money and resourses to do that kind of job. You could just open the doors in my mums garage and I had a hydraulic jack and axle stands and a #25 tool box from Halfords. New 2.0 L engine, bored, built, cam, racing weber and some tuning, it had 250 hp. Automatic could not hold the power, changed the trans at least 3 times. Fact, the car was made in Germany and handled like a 911. Had one of them too. Fun car. Chick magnet. The 3.5L car looks and sounds really sick.
