That carpet hole trick is really useful. I can’t say how many times I’ve snagged up a new carpet trying to put holes in to mount seats ect… the older I get the more I appreciate learning these techniques. Also, biggups on the Young MC reference!! Hahaha

This car is the very same car my wife and I had, same color, same stripes, back in 1980, she died years ago now. I’m 62. I’ll never forget the times we shared in the Duster, kinda wished i new how to win this, I don’t know computers. I would totally restore it in memory of my wife. I've always loved these cars. My grandfather was a bootlegger/shiner from E. Tenn and he ran whisky in a black dodge dart similar to your 74 here. It had the drive line from a wrecked 69 Roadrunner, 440/4 speed. Most of the old mountain roads were dirt back in the day and nobody could catch grandpa on those old dirt roads. Grandpa's been gone for many years now but I still have that engine and trans.

For me this is my favorite combination of content. The revival. Then, some content on required repairs to make it basic transportation. Followed up by a series to do an everyday man's budget restoration. Perfect. It’s like an episode of Roadworthy Rescuer but in the youtube format where we get to see everything.

I very much enjoy your dry humor. Your mechanical knowledge is admirable and enjoyable to watch. I am a Retired heavy and light duty mechanic. I bought a dodge dart( First new car)1976 and was bitterly disappointed. It had the blue pollution choked slant 6 . Would over heat if you drove over 55mph. I Sold (rid myself of it) when i was posted to Germany. Would like to own the one you are working on. Oh those Alabama plates don`t rust! made great floor pan. Have a great Christmas.

The interior with new door cards abd upholstery looks sharp. I respect that Derek put in unexpected floor patches.i didn't know he had metal working and welding skills. He loves screwing in old license plates. I hope the new owner uses the car as a daily driver. Take care of the new engine.

Hi Derek, small tips. Put the rattlecans i a bucket of warm water prior to painting ☺️ I find it helpful to prevent clogging and the paint spreads a little better

A guy found this channel many moons ago when I landed on a video where a feller was trying to get an old rusty red Chevelle out of a driveway and to it's new home. I have always been a car guy but VGG introduced me to the rescue and drive videos on the interwebs.
