She was ready to give up on her career and raise a family and decided to give it one last shot with BGT! She had been trying to get a significant part in the West End, Britain's Broadway, now she has produced an album titled My Way, sang for the King, sang My Way at the Hollywood Bowl for David Foster's 75th Birthday Gala, and brought in the New Year singing at a British New Year Celebration Show! She is doing much more than she ever dreamed! Great person and Great performer! She has one of those voices that stops you in your tracks and a personality that makes you fall in love with her! The song she chose for the final was a rushed 3 day task and she got Loren Allred, one of her idols, to let her and encourage her to sing her version of Over The Rainbow in the finals, which by coincidence is the song BGT played after her performance of Tomorrow in her audition! Sydnie just made minor changes to Loren's version and now Loren and her have released a video of them singing this song in a duet! Loved your reaction! Have a Joyful and Blessed New Year!

I watched her performances on BGT and was completely blown away by not only her vocals but by her personality as well. She has dreamt of singing in the West End but (as Simon alluded to, she got turned down countless times) She performed in Starlight Express in Germany so has theatre land experience but this was her final go at breaking through. I’m so glad she persevered. I love her so much and watch and rewatch BGT with happy tears streaming down my face. And she sang for the KING!!!! How cool is that, Sidnie!? She’s a generational talent.

Three minutes that shook the world. The best live performance of “My Way” by anyone, ever. This is Sydnie’s own original version of this song - her own vocal arrangement - and with it she commanded the stage, wowed the theatre audience and shocked the panel of judges. It was an inspired performance that absolutely no one was expecting. Thank you for your enthusiastic reaction, Christi. I now urge you to react to Sydnie’s remarkable BGT audition, in which she mesmerises with a grown-up version of “Tomorrow” and in her preliminary interactions with the judges reveals her wonderfully bubbly, quirky and witty personality. Oh, and you will not want to miss her thrilling golden buzzer moment.

Thanks for a great reaction to Sydnie. I'll give you a little backstory. Sydnie studied theater and has had gigs on cruise lines as well as performing Starlight Express in Germany. Her dream has always been to be in the West End in London. When she appeared on BGT she was working front of house in a local gym in London after moving from Kent, where she had been raised. Her song choices, of which she sings three in the competition, tells a story in itself. Think of the songs as the acts in a trilogy. First she sings Tomorrow, but this is not the Tomorrow you and I have heard from Annie, no this is a grown up, adult version of Tomorrow that rips you to your soul. Also pay attention to her choice of wardrobe with each song choice. With Tomorrow she is dressed like an adult version of a lost orphan. (The wardrobe choices could be accidental, but I don't think so.) The arrangement of Tomorrow is next level, as is the delivery by Sydnie. The second song of the trilogy is My Way, a very male dominated and some would say male driven vocal. However, again, Sydnie puts her own spin on My Way, and it comes off as Her Way. I repeat, look at the choice of clothing versus the song. The escalation from Tomorrow through My Way crashes into a crescendo as it heads for the epic last act of this play as Sydnie brings us her take on Loreen Alread's version of Over the Rainbow. The play is over, starting with Tomorrow, working through My Way and culminating in a land Over the Rainbow. From Orphan, to Business Woman, to a Fairy Tale Princess, BGT closes the show as we are given yet another way to celebrate Christmas.

Lovely reaction, and just knew you were going to be surprised in the best possible way. Syd is the vocal find of the year (2024), there are a few old vids of her earlier songs and all worth watching, and plenty of new stuff available now. I'd already fallen head over heels for this womans talent before I was pumped to discover I was living in the same village the year she was born (I actually got married that same year there) and my stepson played at the rugby club where Syd played and sang, as well as the local pubs. I shall be seeing her in concert in February, and I'm sure it will be the highlight of my year. Happy New Year and keep following her meteoric rise to the top. ❤

Her album, released a couple of month's ago is called My Way, and it has 11 nuggets of inspiration, including Impossible Dream...she is the new Dulcinea, a muse and inspiration. Over the last few months she performed at David Foster's 75th birthday bash in Hollywood, and her Royal Command performance aired on ITV in England. The destination is more than worth the journey. Much of her background is explained in her audition for BGT, which is the song Tomorrow.

Great reaction Christi! OMG! Goosebumps and trembles! I'm so glad that you discovered Sydnie Christmas! This was Sydnie's Britain's Got Talent Semi-Final Performance. Please continue in the following order: NEXT: Sydnie's BGT Audition "Golden Buzzer" of "TOMORROW". Please resist skipping over Sydnie's introduction to the judges. There you will get to experience Sydnie's charismatic personality. Sydnie won over the audience before she ever sang one note. AFTER THAT: Sydnie's Final BGT Performance of "OVER THE RAINBOW". So powerful, so dynamic, and so stunningly beautiful! With that same reaction, please include BGT Winner's Announcement. It is short, but so emotional! None of the following information about Sydnie Christmas has been verified, but is only from what I have read: I have read that Sydnie had performed professionally for a few years on stage on more than one Royal Caribbean Cruise ship. I have read that Sydnie had performed professionally in the musical "STARLIGHT EXPRESS" somewhere in Europe. And I read that Sydnie has since auditioned for the musicals in West End London, and has continuously been denied. Sydnie's BGT journey is the best that I have ever seen! Enjoy! She did only three songs on BGT, Tomorrow (her initial audition song), My Way and her finale song, Over the Rainbow. Two of the songs, Tomorrow and Over the Rainbow were arrangements by other people, but My Way was her own interpretation of the song . Her dream is to be in musical therapy in the West End. She's worked on a cruise ship and did Starlight Express in Germany and, I think, one other professional musicle, but so far nothing big. She'd been working at the front end at a gym prior to the show, where she checked people in, made healthy shakes and the like. She more recently sang a beautiful rendition of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, which she performed live at the London Palladium for Magic of Christmas 2024.

I saw her Golden Buzzer audition on line the day after it happened. Loved her personality before she saw, one line in I had goosebumps and knew I was witnessing history, the inevitable moment when a generational, unique talent steps into the spotlight. Knowing the history behind it and loving Streisand (another generational talent) listening to Sydnie meet the world made me think of what it must have been like to be part of the opening night audience of Funny Girl. The night Streisand’s star was truly born. She actually brings more to Tomorrow than Barbara and that’s saying a lot. From interviews she’s given Sydnie’s dream since childhood was to star on the West End. She performed and studied voice from childhood and obtained a musical theatre post secondary degree. She’s been auditioning constantly since she was 16 and was a swing on the Germany touring company of Starlight Express for three years. She worked on cruise ships in the shows for about two years. She never stopped auditioning and given how talented and beautiful the constant rejection was I can easily imagine how broken down she was. She had moved to London after learning they were reviving Starlight Express, given her talent and experience she must have thought her time had finally come (during the German years she had played all the female parts as understudy more than once, after the BGT videos watch her recording of the main song, done at ALW’s request to see how amazing see is). Sadly for her, but great for us, the “idiots” Simon mentioned not only rejected her for a main role, the rejected her entirely for the revival. I’ve heard that Andrew Lloyd Webber made heads roll after he saw her and found out she’d auditioned more than once. She has said in a tv interview she had started to believe she’d been fooling herself for years and her belief she had real talent (she has that in spades and that magic “it” that shines out, pure star power & hers is like a searchlight) was giving out. She was resigning herself to training for another career and was planning to give up after 10+ years of rejection. She decided to give herself one final shot to see if anyone else believed in her and sent in an audition tape (this was the only realty / talent tv show she’s even auditioned for, everything else was the theatre). She was invited to a live audition (she has a cute video on her Instagram of her opening the response from BGT. She worked for three months each on her versions of Tomorrow and My Way (the 2nd after the Golden Buzzer) and wouldn’t let anyone but her boyfriend, a musician who accompanied her rehearsals, her Tomorrow before the audition. Charming as she is, Syd being Syd (she’s loved by friends and co-workers) she was incredibly nervous and hard on herself. That audition truly had the power to change the course of her life. After knowing that, rewatching her find out Simon hates the song just before she performs, I have so much awe and respect for how quickly she closed her eyes and centered herself. Once she starts singing she travels to another plane and takes us all along. The power, passion and authentic emotion of every word is beautiful and never gets old. Even after winning she didn’t quit her gym job, they had to finally suggest she didn’t need the shifts.

Definitely watch the golden buzzer audition with "Tomorrow"! The album is wonderful too. She hasn't performed it so there's only the album audiovid but just for a listen ..my fave is "She Used To Be Mine"..it's the one which is imo most in the style of the great Streisand. Taking you on a journey through the story of the song. This is what Sydnie does and will hopefully bring back..it's in the tradition of singers who can really sing yes but who can also tell the story.

Christi, if you go back to her first audition, Tomorrow, and her last BGT, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, you will continue to see Judy Garland, but also a bit of Celine, Barbra Streisand and others. Then follow with Starlight Express. She sang Believer be for the King. She killed it. She has so many genres she can do, so we need to have patience. But your reaction was spot on. Please do the others. Sydnie has tried for 10 years to get a yes to sing on West End. Nothing but rejects. She had decided BGT was her last shot. What’s amazing is she was nervous to have to be Sydnie as opposed to singing for a part. Turns out just being Sydnie turned out to be Simply the Best! I can’t quit listening to her songs.

Oh Christi...now check out the audition. You get a feel for who she is...this performance was the show piece, but her audition actually made me cry. You also have to watch her sing her winning performance of "Over the Rainbow" at BGT. Sydnie has a theatre background but never got the big break she deserved. She played in "Starlight Express" and other musicals on a cruise ship. Sydnie has come out with a music video of "Starlight Express after Andrew Lloyd Weber heard her sing. She has done an album call "My May" and a Christmas one including a live Christmas concert. There are early videos her that she has released. You will be able to see that by the time she got to BGT her voice had improved so much that she was ready.

Sydnie just draws you in, doesn't she?! Welcome to Sydnie's fan club! She posts regularly on IG and is as down to earth as we all love her to be. I pull out her songs every day, still....: that hidden beauty of English art, she just telling her story. She's been singing since her teens (a few videos still on her yt channel), but she is now still taking lessons with her BGT coach, Annabel Williams, with whom she posts selfies on IG when they can. She credited this two month prep for this semi-final song with her artistic breakthrough in this and her final song, bringing out even more of her phenomenal talent. Besides her album and other's suggestions here, and her Christmas songs, of which the sacred carol, O Holy Night, is indeed said by one of your fellow vocal coaches (Dounia Raphael, in Lebanon) to be better than Celine's recording...., her music videos of My Way and Over the Rainbow mustn't be missed; then there's the video of her duet with Loren Allred of Over the Rainbow, recorded when Loren was also attending David Foster's 75th concert in support of Sydnie being among the superstars on fhe line up, there, and it was released just before Christmas.

Sydnie had some successes as a singer and actress, but they were never enough for her to live on. That's why she worked as a cleaner and then the front of a gym. She was despairing of her dreams to be a professional performer and was ready to throw in the towel. Her BGT audition was basically her last shot. (She had actually been close to auditioning on BGT before but she got cold feet before she got to the stage.) She nailed the audition as we know. For the semi-final, she did My Way and, as you've now seen, she blew everyone away. For the final, she performed Over The Rainbow. That preformance brought the house down. The audience was so moved that they enthusiastically applauded right through the first judge's (Amanda Holden) comments. Now Sydnie's career is just exploding. She sang in the Royal Variety Show, at David Foster's 75th birthday special, and in several other events by invitation. She released her first album, entitled My Way ... and I have a copy that I play time and again in my car. 😊 She will be doing a concert tour this year and I so wish I was in Britain so that I could go to one. She's a sweetie and is a delight to watch in interviews. You are going to love her audition and final performance now. Let's have it!

Sydnie has been singing in public since she was four. She did post secondary studies in musical theatre and after that was in a number of shows in theatres and cruise ships. She answered a number of casting calls for shows in London's West End without success, and she had a previous audition for BGT but failed to make it to a live audience. The BGT show was possibly going to be her last attempt before taking her life in another direction. After winning the Golden Buzzer, she had a number of weeks to prepare for her second appearance and was aided by a prominent professional vocal coach provided by the show. After her My Way performance, her preparation for the final was only days rather than weeks. When she won, she said that her nerves almost got the better of her and that she wasn't satisfied with her performance of Over The Rainbow even though everyone else loved it. She now has released an album and a Christmas EP and will be headlining a tour of the British Isles in the coming months.

Go back to her audition singing "Tomorrow" and then go to the final where she sings "Over the Rainbow".... Her background was singing her whole life, going to performance school, and doing cruze ships and a stint in Starlight Express in Germany. Lots of other material if you search on KZbin. She has an album, "My Way", and sang at the Royal Variety Show and has done a duet of "Over the Rainbow" with Loren Allred. Plus some Christmas live performances. Her rendition of "O Holy Night" which she recorded is spectacular. She has a terrific personality and that you will see in her BGT audition. This is a short but not fully comprehensive summary. Sydnie has tried for the last 10 years to get into the West End but has continued to not get the roles that she tried for. That is what Simon was talking about. BGT was her last rodeo before she was going to give up because she wants to be a mother and she knows that to be a mother you can't be selfish anymore. And for the last 10 years she's been so completely focused on getting into the West End that she's missed weddings and other very important events, and so that's what she means that to be a mother you can't be selfish anymore. But now that she's won BGT and it's given her this platform, hopefully it will give have given her this boost she needs to get the roles she wants in the West End. And hopefully she will continue to make and put out more albums because her songs are amazing and people just love to listen to her sing.

I have seen goosebumps and tears! Everyone one of us blown away! Please go watch her golden buzzer for Tomorrow … you get her personality there! She has an album out and performed for the Royal Family last week! And still so genuine! I love her!!! I am giving you 👍🏻 AND subscribed because you reviewed HER! ❤ Simon’s comment about previous auditions… she tried to get in to the West End ( Britains Broadway) … you will get some of that in first audition. She did some theater… cruise ship theater and such.

This was the semi-finals. She received the golden buzzer from Amanda for her audition (the best audition I have ever seen/heard in all my years of watching talent shows), which sent her straight to the semis. You must see/hear this audition. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppvcqmeqjr95esU She is so funny and likeable before she ever sings a note. Then she takes a very upbeat little Broadway song from Annie, and makes it almost a gospel song. Best version of "Tomorrow" EVER!! Then she gives us this Incredible version of "My Way", which for me, is the best single performance on any talent show EVER!! Absolutely Stunning!!! In the finals she performs "Over the Rainbow", and gets the longest applause I have ever seen/heard on any talent show. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXPKf36IrJp1h5o She goes on to become the first female singer to win in 18 years of BGT. For me, Sydnie is the most talented and likeable contestant I've ever seen. You have discovered a real treasure, Christi. 💕💕

She has experience on stage but not at that level. She has said she got vocal coach help by the top bgt vocal coach hired for singers by the show. You can see how it has helped deliver it. You can see the maximising of the dynamics. Again training makes great just memorable.

His BGT audition was her first audition as Sydnie Christmas and not as a musical character ❤

I found her on KZbin, start with her first audition tape, Tomorrow, I cried the whole way through the song. I don't know if it was because I was sent out of the country to boarding school when I was six,and felt like she knows, she's the only one. Left the school 74 years ago, never looked back, never even thought about it. Do watch all 3 songs. She finished school at 16 and entered a 2 year performing arts college. She has been in a few things but her dream is getting in the west end, which must be like Broadway. This show was her last chance and she was going to quit trying

She’s been trying to get onto the West End, which is their version of our Broadway. She has worked some cruise ships . Which is like the sea going version of the airport lounge to me 😅

Sydnie is an old soul. She loves to take the older songs, rework them Her Way, so these songs are never forgotten. Think about this… Sydnie auditioning for West End, always taking a crack at other characters, but never getting anywhere … and how amazing that when Sydnie auditions as Sydnie, she knocks it out of the park. I’d suggest you follow up with Somewhere Over the Rainbow, followed by Starlight Express that Andrew Lloyd Webber asked her to perform with her own kisses, then do Believer which she performed before the King. Somebody to Love on You Tube many years ago will put a smile on your face.

To find Sydnie’s other 2 BGT performances- on You Tube, BGT Sydnie Christmas Audition “Tomorrow”, and Sydnie Christmas BGT Finals” Somewhere Over The Rainbow” I strongly recommend seeing her Audition-Awesome! You will find some older performances prior to BGT on You Tube as well. Also, you can hear/ see most of the songs on her album on You Tube.

🎄Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!🎄 A wonderful christmas song - Diana Ankudinova & Brandon Stone (piano) - What a Wonderful World (the best cover of a wonderful song by the legend Louis Armstrong). Diana Ankudinova - Queen of Goosebumps - Diana received such a title for her extraordinary unique voice.
