In 62 years of living and nearly 20 years of instrumental and vocal music performance, I have to truly say that Sydnie is one of the top 10 vocalists I've ever heard. When she gets her big, starring role on the West End, I will fly to the UK for the first time in my life, just to see her.

She is a fantastic singer but for over the rainbow you should listen to Lauren Allred which she sang sometime ago on AGT i believe and it is the same and they both sang it incredibly well. There’s nothing wrong in copying someone as good as Lauren mind you.

The very first time I heard her when she said,” Hallowwww!” during her audition song “tomorrow” , I was like “Jesus who is this girl?” I was not expecting that heavy Brit accent to come out of her sweet pretty face. I'm a HUGE Judy Garland fan and pretty much can't stand anyone else singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" because it just doesn't compare, but this version, good lord, this version has Judy and Sydnie and wistful and dreams and determination and joy and pain and hope and disappointment all wrapped up and my GOD can that woman open her mouth and sing. In close up shots you can see her uvula and the back of her mouth and how it's positioned and how it's vibrating and you know that this is the real deal. Like Simon said--are these people deaf that you are auditioning for? Well, they ain't deaf now cause she's done BLOWN the roof off the place. It truly is a Sydnie Mary Christmas!!!!

My thoughts on her singing...and i say this as a guy who grew up around singing with my mom singing professionally. The three songs sung by Miss Christmas for BGT are by FAR...my most favorite versions of those iconic songs ever sung. I sat up the other night thinking about what other songs I'd love to hear her sing...from Alphavilles "Forever Young" to The Eagles "Desperado" to Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"...and Berlin's "Take My Breath Away"...and i started making a list to suggest to her ...and ill be damned if it wasnt well over 200 iconic songs on my list. I immediately stopped creating the list after seeing how big it was getting. Her voice is PERFECT. It absolutely resonates right through me at my core. Crazy good. The perfect pitch, sniper control, and buttery tonal variations are perfect. I can't get enough of her singing. I'm not at all embarrassed about the number of times I've listened to her 3 songs she sang on BGT. My only problem now is...How do we get her to sing the 5,000 songs in my musical index???❤ Dusty Springfield "You Don't Own Me"❤

What precision on that last 'My Way'. Stupendous! That last note, was like it had her, and she had it. She had to like unhook herself from it, in order for her to stop; to end the song; or it would have just taken her to the moon or something. Absolutely tremendous! I am 66 years old living in Florida with cancer surviving alone with my 2 boxers. I listen to these shows since the beginning and I have done tons of cruising pre covid. I loved the shows but never saw Syd personally. Now my musical career consisted of me in elementary in a choir hitting a note and the teacher stopped everything and wanted to know who did that and I was afraid. My mom was a homemaker but was in the church and took her singing seriously and in high school I would yell at her to let me sleep. Wow do I feel like a schmuck. One thing I have come to appreciate and love so much is seeing people'e reactions of happiness and experience something so beautiful. I love bringing a smile to peoples faces for sure but Im not that special but watching Syd just absolutely change people's entire mental environment. I saw you cry, I need to take a break from binge watching these 3 performances because my skin is tired from goosing up on me. Oh I am so happy for her but I also must express my love to Ireland and England worked for BT for years been to Ipswich to the Labs, over to Northern Ireland when bombs were exploding on the runways at Heathrow BUT the people over there are amazing and beautiful. Beth (hope thats your real name) I think you are so just amazingly gorgeous when you express your true feelings about Syd you pop on your chair smile just exude your feelings. Just awesome. Thank you and I will always watch you.

As a someone who can’t sing to save my own life, I can appreciate how hard this must be to pull off. It’s easy. Musical theater cast is character based performance in a relatively medium or small venue. She is obviously too talented to play someone else. She is so nuclear powerful that she needed a huge venue and crowd to turn her power loose! Those casting directors didn’t know what she was capable of and agents who turned her down have probably hung themselves by now lol.

Casting for those shows goes beyond just the vocal talent and technicality; they're also looking at your physique (are you the right height, shape, size, etc) especially if the role involves dance elements to it (which many of them will). I've had friends who have had to quickly put on weight just to secure a call back, and others who were turned away because they were too short. There is some leniency when it comes to household names or celebrities though, but largely it will depend on the casting team how strict they are when it comes to finding what they're looking for (and they already know exactly what they want most of the time before anyone sets foot inside).

Beth - About that shift you point out on "DARE" (in "that you dare to dream..."), where the vowel opens to an AH sound: This is one of several places in all three of Sydnie's BGT performances where (to my ear, anyway) she channels Barbra Streisand. Do you hear it? Other Streisand moments I noticed included: in "Tomorrow," the second line "Bet your bottom dollar"; and, in "My Way," the way she fairly chomped on that sound "choo" in "more than I could CHEW." For just those fleeting moments, I could see Barbra right there, in her early twenties, at the mic with Sydnie. Of course I hear other greats as well -- Judy Garland and Liza Minelli and some others mentioned in other comments. I love that Sydnie isn't imitating anyone, but the community of great singers shines through her.

It's so lovely & I hope they collaborate. Also she gives credit to Annabel Williams I think is her last name the Bgt vocal coach academy with helping her achieve there. So that's why a vocal coach is great . The are is more hiberno English or brogue as some refer to it. I rewatch this over and over and over again and the tears the joy the emotions that are received, to me this marks an incredible singer that moves us to places that we would normally never get to with an average singer. I think that is the job of a vocal entertainer is to take us on that journey and give us all those wonder feelings and emotions. My skin is tired lol.

I think she is a great singer with great personality. When she sings she reaches your heart and stays there. It remains in your mind and you sing the way she sings. Now she owns the song.

It's so cool you picked up on the Greatest Showman sound on Over The Rainbow - Sydney adapted this version from Lauren Allred's version on AGT :)

I don't even like Broadway music and Sydnie absolutely floored me. I mean chills, goosebumps.... She's a generational talent and my wife and I will pay to go see her live, for sure! And she's sooo down to earth and sweet to top it off. Superstar!

I had the EXACT same thought about how it has a "Greatest Showman" feel. To the point I was trying to remember where this was sung on the show.

😀your ‘reaction’ sounded like a truly ‘professional interpretation’ of a rare phenomenal “work of stage performing vocal art”! Yes! ‘Twas “personal/heartfelt” portrayal of “🎶my way🎶 via Sydnie’s own craft. Many of us jolted deeply with it! Thanks Beth, for your reaction - 😳🫡🤣makes us understand what happened! 😊🙏❤

When Sydnie hits the West End, heavy crowd control required. She is an entertainer. Thank you for a very instructive video, explaining the why and what we are hearing.

She has some of the same qualities as Barbra Streisand, but she belts more. Every note sounds intentional in volume and intensity. So much control!

On her first visit to the Royal Variety Performance she will simply be one of the acts. But I have little doubt that on her second visit she will be the top of the bill. What a voice.

Funny how you said it( somewhere over the rainbow performance) reminds you of the Greatest Showman as this version is the exact version sang and done by Lorren Allred and gave her permission to use it. Lorren Allred is the original singer who sings Never Enough
