We used to have parties out in the middle of nowhere Texas in the 1980’s. This song came on the radio once and we had all the trucks in a circle playing this at top volume. Like a dozen very loud stereos going, and of course a bonfire in the middle. So many kids having incredible fun. The best time to be young, was then.

BLACKFOOT Belongs in the ROCK n ROLL Hall of Fame
@delanomcdade2952 Жыл бұрын
Hey sweetie, you have the Blackfoot groove in your swing, I'd dance it with you any day. Been listening to this song since I was 4 or 5. My Mom is Cherokee and doesn't care much for rock music but loves when I played it. Brought back great memories. Thank you for playing it. If there were a double thumbs up button, I'd be pressing it. Peace be with you

Singer/ Lead Guitarist Ricky Medlocke is original lead guitarist for Lynyyrd Skynyrd who left to form this band. He now is back with Lynyyrd Skynyrd Harmonica by his grandfather Shorty Medlock.
@jeffbolton96992 жыл бұрын
Actually Rickey played drum for Skynyrd in the beginning but his true love was the guitar so he left and formed Blackfoot. The harmonica in the intro was his grandfather Shorty who raised Rickey and eventually adopted him, Rickey refers to him as both.

If you like harmonica, mid 70’s J. Geils Band will be a treat. Whammer Jammer would be a good start…..

Pair this song up with a video of a steam locomotive pulling out the station and the harmonica makes sense.

That was the lead singer’s dad playing the harmonica. Kick ass! Great song! If you want to hear more harmonica and rhythm, check out Ozark Mountain Daredevils “ If you want to get to heaven “. It’s awesome!

Agree with Laura on J Geils. Excellent band with an incredible harmonica player. Another song with a great combo of harmonica and guitar is "Got No Shame" by Brother Cane.

They have a lot of ties to Lynyrd Skynyrd. Grew up in Jacksonville Florida together. The singer and lead guitarist is Rickey Medlocke who is now in Skynyrd as a guitarist. He was actually a part of the very first lineup of Skynyrd as well. Went on to do his own thing with Blackfoot. Btw, that is his Father Shorty Medlocke playing harmonica. Take care
