You glossed over the most fun part, pulling those lower pans apart so you can remove the powerhead! Once those pants are pulled apart, little pieces parts go flying everywhere... Be careful with this model, they are known for water leaks in the exhaust cover that spray water into the exhaust ports. I'm sure you can come up with an ingenious, yet simple way to pressure test the cooling passages in that block to check for internal leakage. Just don't want you to go through all the trouble of reassembling this thing if it has got an internal water leakage issue. D

Only one bottom pan screw gave me trouble as I mention. I have had those pesky exhaust,waterside covers tig weld repaired in the past when I was still working. Mostly saltwater corrosion here not gasket leaks. Not a great design those three covers in my opinion. At this point Im just getting them running and not too worried about the longevity of them and to be too critical about all problems of any particular motor model issue. Its all in fun at this point thats my new catch phrase and I do it on the cheap thats why I do it but thanks as always for your input. I know one guy on KZbin pressure tests the blocks for oilseal leaks a little far fetched but thats only my opinion,LOL! Stay Tuned........

@@OutBoardTink62 Well yeah, you can go "overboard" for sure. I just didn't want you to get the thing running only to have that cylinder fill with water again. And yeah, the gaskets weren't the issue, it was thin porous castings for sure. And yeah, that three layer exhaust cover is just an example of "over engineering", kinda like the rest of the engine.
