@@markgt894 That's totally untrue ! That was true 20 or 30 years ago, but certainly not now in 2024. All safety tests and reliability tests all accross Europe show that French car makers are doing tremendously well. You are spreading fake news.
@klausschelling8159Ай бұрын
From a German : too many Brits keep posting the 90s-2000s stereotypes about French cars (not reliable, etc...). That's absolutely not true. I am a Auto Performance engineer, 17 years of experience within the car industry (Volvo, VW Group). I can tell you that French car makers have dramatically improved those past 10 years. They do incredibly well in all reliability and safety tests. Meanwhile, a car maker like Toyota, that is systematically celebrated as "reliable" by UK people, can't stop having technical issues and car recalls. Last one occured just one week ago in the USA : mass recalls because of airbag failures, putting lives at risk. In 2022, it was 500.000 cars in Malaysia, Indonesia that had to be recalled. It happened in Japan too. So stereotypes are just not accurate. It's no longer the 90s, it's 2024 and French cars are great. I drive a Peugeot 3008 (2022). I'm 51 year old, always was a BMW guy but my Peugeot is by far the best car I have ever owned. It's bordering on luxury. Driving it, you would feel it's a 100.000 euro vehicle. Quality built, interiors, design, driving sensations and performances, it's a fabulous car. French cars are "accessible luxury" or "Luxury for all" cars. If you wanted the German counterparts, you would need to put extra 20.000 euro more on the table. French cars are on same level if not better, and they cost less money. Like many in Germany, I am angry at the way German car makers inflate prices in the most shocking way. "Normal, family cars" now can cost up to 60.000-80.000 euro, it's too way too much and many people in Germany can't get one. That's why I have decided to go French and I'm not going back. Within the auto industry, people in the know are perfectly aware of how good the French have got. Sadly, I predict very tough times ahead for VW, Audi, Mercedes.

That revival of the original Citroën badge really works on this car. The facelift is great too, at last the rear end looks substantial and balanced, the only styling weak point in the older version. I know of 3 people who have the earlier version and they absolutely love their cars, reliable too. No teething problems. The only comment they made against them is, funnily enough, the slightly mismatched rear end. Too ‘light’ and taking away from a ‘presence’ on the road - their words. Well, that’s now been sorted it seems and it 😅looks good. A really competent car, the design finally completed. They all say too that they often get more than the claimed range, without trying. 5:45 ☺️ Despite its flaws (tight back seat, uncomfortably high door sills), I had considered buying the old model as a used car because it was very pleasant to drive. This is still the biggest plus of Citroën cars. The short warranty period put me off, however. I drove a Mokka for a few months. The poor quality of the interior, with clips and parts falling off or breaking off, did not bode well. I suppose there is not much of a difference in that respect to Citoëns.

As an owner of the previous generation one, I'm not sure about that face. It all looks a bit messy - almost insect like with all those separate eyes. The rear lights are nicer though and I'm keen on the incremental improvements to the infotainment and driver's screen. Love the car. Had it since March with 5200 miles under the belt, really enjoy living with it. The comfort is superb, performance is surprising and I'm struggling to average less than 4 miles per kwh so far. Downsides, app is pretty much useless as it's so temperamental and best will in the world a real world motorway range of 150-170 miles is a bit of a compromise compared to some of the latest and greatest cars coming along.

I'm calling Emperor's New Clothes on this "facelift"- it is terrible. Those square light blocks look like something aftermarket that a numpty has fitted by just taking a hacksaw to the bodywork at the back, the front I can just about put up with, but the pre-facelift is a lot more attractive. That silver trim below the grille is a mistake- it just makes the grille look huge. Surely I'm not the only person who thinks this- is everyone afraid that if they speak out Stellantis will be angry?

I don’t really see the point of this. As others have said, it isn’t anything more than a minor facelift, and I am undecided about whether I prefer the old car or the new. I like the new headlights, but not the DRLs. Vehicle-to-load is a good addition, and the HUD now appears to project onto the windscreen and not a pop-up screen. As an owner of the old e-C4, there’s not much I would change; perhaps get rid of the tablet mount and provide a deeper drawer, extend the range, and for God’s sake sort out the app. A comparison with some newer cars makes the C4 look a bit dated - the Kia EV3 looks more modern, has better tech, and a frunk; the Skoda Elroq has a more interesting and practical boot. Perhaps the next iteration of the C4 will be more exciting. The colour’s nice.

The old one is better for design. Why use those hideous rectangular driving lights front and back and the new badge is ghastly. The current model definitely has flair and style in spades compared to this bland box! It's not all bad though. The deletion of the huge front fog lamp surrounds is wonderful, the new ones are much more discreet. The new front seats seem to have much more pronounced bolsters so that you would get a bit more side support at decent speed when negotiating bends. The colour in this case though is ridiculous although of course, that's purely subjective because I prefer something that's a bit more subtle! Displaywise, the 7" instrument screen is much better but does it have a HUD and the 10" infotainment screen will always be welcome - assuming they're updated the software! What about the Puretech engine? That's what a lot of people will want to hear about! It may very well replace my Srs 3 C4 but in two or 3 years.
