I bought one of these the second it came out. The quality is outstanding and much higher than I was expecting. Everything from how it was packed, to the finishing of the aircraft was top notch. It's clear that this airplane was very carefully designed. Assembly was very easy and she looks great! The only thing I can complain about is that they did not label the wires on the PNP version. After I placed the order I started to wonder if I had been smooth talked by Two Brothers and Brian Phillips RC into buying a plane that may not be as good as advertised. However this was not the case! This baby really is a 10/10!

After 3 weeks of flying this plane, I can confirm it is a 20/20! She’s perfect. Very well designed. The only weak spot is the that the stock tires are way too thin. Mine popped on a rough asphalted runway. Replaced them with 5” Dubro’s and she’s perfect. I still give it a perfect score despite the tire issue for all the thoughtful design features. Like the wing latch mechanism, have plastic in critical high wear and tear areas like the wingtip and canopy. I appreciate the thick high quality pushrods and linkages. I live in the Caribbean and we have three cyclones forming down here. I flew 4 flights under brutally windy conditions. She was solid, despite the size of the wing, and when I switched on the the A3 Super 4 gyro she was like “what wind?”. I’m happy.

@@renaldolama9517 Hello, the dubros are a bit heavier though. Do you think it restricts flying a little bit or have you noticed anything bad ? 🤔
@renaldolama95174 ай бұрын
@@austrianbeats74 The Dubro's are way heavier, but it makes no difference. This is why I am so happy with this plane. So much lift. The wing is so great! I fly Dubro inflatables on the mains, and put Dubro on as the tail wheel as well. I also use 4500 mah 6S packs. No problem whatsoever. I fly with no slats and vortex generators. No problem. The only thing that may happen with the weight of the Dubro's, is that with a hard landing, the gear mount may detach from the body of the plane, because the factory glue is not that strong.
@austrianbeats744 ай бұрын

Landing? take offs? Figure 8s? Loops? Rolls? When to move to a low wing? And no offence to other channels.Some seem to say "even a beginner can fly this!" And of course there is the conflict of interest, between, money, sponsors, and being true to the beginners. I fly the Xfly Glastar 1200mm which have those lovely soft air tyres. I have along flight ahead of me to get to those warbirds.LOL. Great vids and i like the scoring. Any chance of a easy of flight rating for beginners to experts. Super Timber landing bounce. At speed in full cruise the aircraft is trimmed to hold the nose up. At slower speed the aircraft drops the nose due to less lift. When landing a tail dragged simply release all elevator back pressure at the moment of tire contact and the aircraft weight will keep it glued to the runway. Timing is the key.

Hello Jon, great video. Just a few questions, about the flap/aileron mixing, is all that by the book, or your preference? Did you replace the servos? I am new and just got an NX10 and still figuring it out. I saw some videos that experienced a warped left wing, which resulted in 42 clicks of trim. Sound unpleasant to deal with for a new plane. Lastly, what is the largest 6S battery that can be used. Thank you, Anthony
@TwoBrosRC4 ай бұрын
We wrote our own book on this one. The setup info at the end of the vid is the way we prefer doing it - it's more customizable and allows you to adjust the programming of the aircraft to your preferences. Servos were left stock - they're fast, powerful, and precise enough. A few guys had issues with their Super Timber. Happens to every plane at some point. The largest battery we'd recommend would be a 5000 pack, but some people have had success with 6000 batteries. The heavier the battery, the easier it is to stall while maneuvering. Keep that in mind. If you want to learn more about programming with your NX10, hop on Discord via bit.ly/TBRCDiscord and chat in the #tech-and-setup channel!

@motovick6 ай бұрын
Thank you for this review. E-flight is recomending to use the float made for the apprentice. Are these the ones you were using? How was the buoyancy for the super timber? What about the water rudder, I beleive there is no dedicated servo on these float, how easy it was to make it work from the tail wheel? Is it possible to use better float than these (I.e. with a dedicated servo)?
@TwoBrosRC6 ай бұрын
Floats should be linked in the description for ya. The floats work great on water, no issues whatsoever. The water rudder is not ideal and has a bit of play to it due to the linkage design, but it's otherwise perfectly fine. No idea if other floats are possible, the ones recommended are the ones we used.

On my first flight using 4S battery, I was long and hot without flaps. I tried to execute a go around several feet off the ground. I did not have the power and it crashed separating the gear from the fuselage. Sent it back to Horizon and they were kind enough to replace it. I will not fly it again with 4S batteries.
@TwoBrosRC15 күн бұрын
It's definitely easier to fly on a 6 cell system. You've gotta be more cognizant of the power curve and angle of attack at all times on a less powerful battery.
@andrewbaerm.d.398415 күн бұрын
@@TwoBrosRCAbsolutely. Thanks for that. What concerns me is that I was only a few feet off the ground. One would think that the springs on the gear would dissipate some of the energy. But the plastic separated with some of the foam from the fuselage. Yes, I could have repaired with foam safe CA or Epoxy but it would have been one ugly repair and I am not sure how stable. I have heard the gear is an issue with the Timber series. Is that true? In any case, I will certainly have to be more careful and use the flaps. Do you think slats really slow it down?
@TwoBrosRC15 күн бұрын
Slats help slow it down but their main purpose is to allow for a higher angle of attack while landing.

@@TwoBrosRCDo you think the slats really make STOL operations easier in addition to the use of flaps? I heard the whistle but how it affects normal flight I'm also curious about. Jon, what do you think of the Super timber vs the turbo timber evolution? I've heard very polar reviews on it. I'm very confident in my ability to fly both but I've heard the super timber has a lot slower stall speed and a somewhat violent stall (Brian Phillips had this issue and I've seen no one else have/address it) and flies heavier. That being said, the replacement parts for the super timber are essentially the same price as for the turbo timber evolution and the super timber has some very nice features like the easily removable wing m, inflatable tires, removable battery tray etc. I'm leaning towards the super timber because of the overall value but at the end of the day, I want the most fun plane to fly that can still achieve predictable, slow speed flight like the evolution. Thoughts?

What floats did you use on it
@TwoBrosRC6 ай бұрын
Apprentice Size 15 floats: alnk.to/3clIUsk Sorry about not including it earlier, we always forget something when rushing to get a video done in time for a pre-release announcement.

Hi Jon. The servos on my Super Timber seem to be just ok. If you were going to upgrade the servos on your Super Timber, what servos would you go with? Thanks!
@TwoBrosRC5 ай бұрын
We'd use AGFRC B11DLS servos via tinyurl.com/B11DLS - the same ones we recommend for most 9g applications.

does the turbo timber evolution or super timber accept the wings of a twin timber???? that's the real question! three motors would be hilarious.
@TwoBrosRC6 ай бұрын
TTE doesn't take the Twin wings, and Super won't take them either. The wing connection is too different. You'd have to mod them in, but it'd be hilarious 😂

So do they say when this will be available? I hate the stupid pReOrDeR BS. Last time I pre ordered something, it took 7 months for them to tell me they cancelled my order
@TwoBrosRC6 ай бұрын
It should be shipping within the month, that would be our guess.

Tires are filled up with air to much. Soften them up and no bounce. Same with FMS Super Cub 1.3m. Soft for pavement, a little firmer for grass.
@TwoBrosRC6 ай бұрын
HH recommends more air for pavement which is why we had ours inflated there. Good tip though.

Wheels are a big problem. Lot of bouncing. Replace with Dubrow light.
@TwoBrosRC2 ай бұрын
Definitely disagree that they're a problem - if you deflate them significantly, they won't bounce.
