@@sabina1118 Don't worry, she had a loving mother and grand mother (that used to call her farfalla, which mean butterfly in Italian-Lara's mom was Italian) and she has a loving dad! The song isn't originally by her, but by Serge Larma. He loved her version so much (it was some years before this concert) that he invited her to sing it with him at Olympia, in Paris. He finds her version the best of all!

@@sabina1118 Lara Fabian is by far one of the most emotional singers I've ever heard. She surpasses Dimash in that sense. She gets me in the gut really hard every single time. Also, she's really a world class singer. She has sold over 20 million records worldwide as of September 2017 and is one of the best-selling Belgian artists of all time. She's performed singing in many different languages around the world just like Dimash. It's no wonder why Dimash has basically followed in her footsteps :)

I met Lara several times and I spoke to her a few times. She is the nicest person you can meet. I am French Canadian and she became famous with the help of a French Canada. She is not French but Belgian. She is one of the best female singers of the 20th century, hands down. I believe she never gained complete international recognition because she was overshadowed by Celine Dion and her huge steam-roller US-backed machine. Her voice is very different than Celine's, more emotional and deeper. Lara is basically singing about her heartbreak after a love breakup, saying that she feels "sick" (malade), "complètement malade" (completely sick).

Lara Fabian speaks 5 languages fluently and composes in all of them since she was a teenager. Her native language is Italian, then French, Flemish, German, then English... Spanish, also some Portuguese and Russian. ;) She lived in Italy her first 6 years of life. Her mother eas italian. When she performs for italian audience she speaks only in Italian. In Canada, just French or English. In France only in french, in Latin America in Spanish...

Welcome to Lara's world Sabina ;). I've seen this live performance on many occasions (I'm french), and am always captivated by her stunning voice, her emotional way of telling her story. Lara was extremely criticized (so unfairly) at her very beginning, when she emerged in France, she was very successful but yet, many people hated her because they thought she was over the top/way too expressive and stuff, she's had such a very hard time :(, they didn't see the jewel she was. Now, she's 50, still has this incredible voice and she's still very successful in France (she was part of the jury in "The Voice" last year), and also in Russia where she's a huge star. She's definitely part of those great voices, one of the best on the planet. Your emotion says it all ;), I can recommend you "Broken vow" (get some more tissues as so many of us can relate to this song...), "You're not from here", "Adagio", "Caruso"....I'm sure you'll like them. Thanks for reacting to the one and only Lara Fabian.

Hi, Sabina. I want to say that I am completely touched by the way you conduct yourself throughout your reaction, your comments, your sincerity and sheer honesty. I really, really do love it. I have watched only two of you reactions on Lara before this one, both of which are fabulous. Like Lara, you have drawn me in completely. I have subscribed to your channel and so I have noticed that you have done, like, a myriad of reactions of really interesting artists, which I definitely look at. About Lara: Whenever this woman performs, she sets her mind completely into the story/experience she's about to embark on, so she becomes one with the story before she even utters a word. She does it at the start of each song, but here, watching this video, it is captured clearly. Here, like she does with other performances too, it takes her a while to regain herself to become aware of her surroundings. There is not one single artist I know that becomes the story on stage! Lara is one of a kind, in her own league. Hands down untouchable. What I now know about Lara Fabian, I am very strongly of the opinion (if she hasn't started on an autobiography) there should be at least a biography written, as well as film done about her life's journey, focusing especially too on her career and experiences in music. Again, what an amazing and beautiful reaction, Sabina. ❤❤

Mark Hansen, hereunder, says righfully that this is not a song in a concert, but a life experience. It is so true. More precisely for me, it was a spiritual experience and, i am sure, for any vocalist, an artistic and professional experience of a lifetime. You see, when, singing your story, you feel intensely that your listeners are with you and believe that your narration is true and real, when it takes you thirty seconds to get out of your character, when your fans know by heart your song and sing it with you so silently under their breath, and that warm tears and strong emotions grip their heart, then, my friend, you are not simply a gifted and a talented singer, but you are a superb artist who knows how to feel and how to act your story. And, after the song, when you cannot help but still be moved to your core, and their Bravos sounds to you like imploring Encores, in these precious and unforgettable moments, you know, each time, and it is your reward, that, between being a singer and being who you are, an artist, the distance that exists is infinity.

The original version of the song is from "Serge Lama" (in the 70's ???) It's been sang by Dalida as well. Lara and Serge sung it together once. All those versions are avalable on youtube. Still, for me, Lara's performance is the best. And by the way, she is that "possess" by every song of her repertoire. For her, singing otherwise would be like an actor reading his text without any emotion

Je suis malade was written a long time ago - first performed (very successful) by some dudes, then, performed (also successful) by two female vocalists. One of them being Lara Fabian. I like her interpretation best. Dealing with the past: Humans are all time-travellers. We THINK we are living today, but we actually live in the past - in those moments that defined the present Self. Subconsciously, we live in the past, actively, we look for past defining moments to create a reaction-template for the Present and then we travel into the future to estimate how our actions will influence what is to come. In between this "stretched out" Self, is a thin layer of "living in the moment, being present" - As thin as this is, as weak it is - It WILL need HELP. Thank you for choosing the Profession dear Sabina.

Bravo Sabina 😍 I think you will understand me when I say I found it really hard to move on (a bit 😉) from my Dimash obsession and that I was almost relieved to be so very moved by another singer, full body goosebumps and unstoppable tears here again watching you. Knowing how highly Dimash regards her, made her my first next choice too, She is an amazing singer and performer who pours her heart and soul out for us to see, can’t believe I’d never heard of her or Dimash until a few months ago. Look forward to your next reaction!? 😘🇬🇧 Edited: yes to a livestream concert, love chatting with you and all the Dears 😍

When true performers perform, they forget about themselves. I can totally feel that Lara was completely in the character from the first note to like more 20 seconds after the song ended. That’s why it’s so powerful and why the story she told was so believable. On top of that, her vocal skills were impeccable. So glad to watch your first non-Dimash reaction, too. 👍🏼

Yes. Not many seem to get this. A few vocal coaches have said it is really tiring and takes it out of you. Nah. Well that too, but mainly she was feeling every damn emotion and you can not snap out of that in a second. Seeing her in silence and stillness at the end, drowned in and dealing with all of the emotions she has just poured out of her soul is one of the exquisitely beautiful parts of this video for me. I only discovered her yesterday, but I love Lara Fabian! ❤💔❤

It's very moving but you'll have better context to see some of her other amazing live performances. She gives so much of herself to her audiences during her performances when you do watch that particular live je t'aime, you'll understand why the audience wants to give back!

She performs in the classic French style coming from a long lines of great artists dating back to the 40s. This performance is actually a cover of the 1973 famous success of french singer Serge Lama. MUSIC by Alice Dona LYRICS by Serge Lama. This genre of music is all about the storytelling and the transmission of raw emotions. The artist has to embody the character like a great actor would. She truly did that in JE SUIS MALADE.

Hola amigas. This song is one of the few that she didn't write, in fact it was written by a man, Serge Lama. I don't think it has anything to do with gender violence. Rather I see her with a broken heart, for a love that didn't know or couldn't correspond her. That's my opinion. Lara is a pure soul, she gives herself in all her songs, she acts them, that's why she is considered one of the best performers in the world. I knew her many years ago, and fell in love with her. She may not have the recognition of Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, but for me nothing to envy in any way. I thank Dimash that her "dears" are knowing and listening to her through his love for her. Thank you Sabina for your reaction, and your tears, that interpretation deserves them. Hello Sabina; I know how you and your partner were deeply moved by Lara Fabian’ s heartwrenching performance of “ Le Suis Malade” but now I will introduce you to a South Korea crossover vocal harmony group called “ Forestella” with the same ( or even MORE emotional impact singing this heartbreaking song.). They are a 4 male crossover harmony group from South Korea. When they performed their first song ( the Freddy Mercury classic“ Bohemian Rhapsody”) it catapulted them to international stardom and they now have millions of followers worldwide. They were all at one time solo performers. One has a very deep bass/baritone voice. Another, a high operatic voice, and the other two group members (who were also solo performers) combine to render a confluence of absolute total passion and performed live on stage in front of thousands of fans. I thought no one would ever come close to Lara’s’ soulful rendition. And no one vocalist will. But when you have 4 members and the best vocal harmony group in the world, well. ( all I can say is have your Kleenex handy) Some of their other songs I recommend are Simon & Garfunkel classic “The Sound Of Silence”, Guardian “ Angel” that will lift your spirits and transport you to another world-especially during these troubled covid times. And the hauntingly beautiful “ hijo de la luna” But “ Le Suis” remains my all time favorite. I’ve watched it 5 times and each and every time it moves me to my depths. All love from Miami Beach , Florida, Al

My absolute favorite Lara Fabian. So so emotional. Please react to Hua Chenyu Dad, I'm Home with English subs but make sure you have a whole box of tissue. It is a sad song but he does it with such emotion that it is absolutely incredible. You will think it was his story but it isn't. Just an amazing amazing performance. You will see another master who uses talking plus singing, and facial expressions to draw you in deeply. In the performance by Chenyu the audience appears to be unsure what to do at the end. You believe it is his story, and it is done with such intensity that people were unsure if they needed to clap or what but there were tears. I have seen it multiple times and I cry every single time. I have a singer that was equally as passionate her name is Emma Cerchi and she sang it for her blind audition for The Voice Kids France 2018. Not only did this little dynamo knock it out of the building. She universally showed what someone who going progressively blind can do to live their life to the hilt. As good as Ms. Fabian might be that song will always remind of a little girl who sang with her whole body to demonstrate how much she was willing to expend to sing the whole song I hope you can let an old man have his preferences.
