It sounds pretty wicked! It almost sounds like the MX bikes in the way it revs. The KLX has lots of potential for making it into what you want. Just hit me up with any questions and I'll do my best to answer them!

You should compare it with some bikes like the WR250R, CRF250L, DRZ400SM etc if you find someone who has it by doing some 0-60 drag races.

That would be a super fun video! Some of my friends don't like to be on camera, however I think I know some people with WR's and 450L's that might be down to race.

🤘 😬 👍 Aaaahhhh!!!!! I mean, ..hell ya, my dude! The idle circuit change over is probably a little low and definitely seems too rich, but definitely talk to the EJK people. You might lower your idle just a little too. I don't remember where you said you had it, but 12 hundred is probably near the very highest you'd want it hands off. That could be a part of the over rich problem. Talk to them. They're pretty knowledgeable about their product, but remember, there are only a few of you rockin' FI 351s at This point. Treat it as if it were experimental, because it is.

It's been a blast! I've been working on tuning it. The green blue, which I think is the idle circuit switch point was at 1.5 from EJK. I was playing with it a little. I noticed that the yellow zone seemed too rich as you saw in my stationary rev test. I'm going to put a new plug in it probably to get a fresh start. But it is very close! I knew it would be a little experimental when I got it, but that's what makes it fun and exciting!

Bruh!! All I've done is drop my countersprocket one tooth and put the kdx snorkel in mine and it is wayyyy better I couldn't imagine that 351

I've always thought dirt bikes whether they be off road or multipurpose on/off road are pretty cool. I'm kind of a big guy and wonder if the 250 would be kind of small. The cool thing with the multipurpose bike is you could go on or off road with it whereas an off road dirt bike is not street legal.

That's why I enjoy dual sports so much. You're not limited to the paint on the roads per say. I'm at about 220, and it hauls me fine with the big bore. It hauled me fine with the Stage 1 mods too

Did you remove your secondary throttle plates? That bog could be caused by them. They limit air up until a certain rpm then open up once you are under way. I know with most other bikes you can flash the computer to change how and when they open but haven’t seen anything for the klx 250 as of yet. You keep thinking you have too much fuel so it’s a good possibility your fueling is right and your secondary throttle plates could be limiting air throwing it all off. I removed mine. It’s super snappy. No bog, no hesitation, just brap. Give it a try. It’s 2 screws holding them onto a shaft the plates and screws come out and everything else stays intact. It will act as if they are still there but not effect anything.

That thought ran across my mind. I know I had added too much fuel to the yellow zone because I nearly maxed out the controller and then had realized the misfires. I am going to ask Dobeck about the STP when I talk to them. Did you have to do anything with the sensors, or did you just remove the plate?

JH Motor Club I just unscrewed the plates and pulled them out. They will still operate as normal but the plates won’t be there to change the air. It won’t affect anything with them and will operate just as it should but without the plates.

I understand that feeling lol. You need Bill Blue's 351 big bore kit and an EJK fuel controller with the 351 tune at the minimum. You can also add an exhaust and a KDX snorkel from there.

Hey Jeff this is Gregory I would like to know how many miles you have on your bike now? Any knocking in the engine? or any thing has failed like the crank or gears?

Just passed 2,000 miles. No, knocking or anything like that. Nothing has failed. The only issues I have had are with tuning, if you want to call it that. Of course, with mods like these, tuning may take awhile to get dialed in.

I ended up with 7 6 6.5 0.5 3 2 (G Y R GB YB RB). This is with the airbox lid off

What rpm are you shifting at now on WOT pulls?

Funny that you are asking that now lol. About 9500 RPM. I'm currently editing a 0-60 video for tonight, and I mentioned that in the video how I am short shifting a bit to keep the bike in the powerband

I did a short run on the highway and hit an indicated 95 MPH, then I ran up on traffic. With more room, I think it'll top out at around 100

Have you been able to see yet, the difference in fuel consumption better the 250 & the big bore set up?

Not really. I ran it through a tank of gas in the break in video in only 40 miles. By tank of gas, I mean when the light came on. However that was because I added too much fuel to the green zone which has the most effect on fuel economy. Since then, I adjusted the fuel in that zone and have gone 40 miles without the fuel light lol. I'll see the next time I fuel up.

I haven't taken it to a dyno yet. It is in the plans after it is all tuned properly. Mr. Blue got 29 HP and 20 LB FT with his test bike. So, I'd imagine I'm somewhere around there

It took a lot of ironing out with the EJK, and still did not run the best. That is why I switched to the Power Commander to get a custom tune
