This Shark pickup truck will cement BYD's plan to challenge Ford and Toyota for this market segment in Australia. New emission standards will come into being in Australia on the 1st January 2025. BYD will eat the lunch of Ford and Toyota. Their vehicles are market leaders. But they are overpriced and old-fashioned.

That's of no importance to a cheap car. Run it to the end of the warranty, and it has already paid for itself. The money saved can be better used in your mortgage, not locked in a maybe trade-in value. A diesel or petrol ute will be worth nothing in under 5 years.
