Ryan Reed RG3 had injury issues in college, LJ didn’t. Also a lot of medical professionals pegged RG3 as a risk just based off of how he landed during his vertical. His knees bowed in which is indicative of a weak base. RG3 was an exception more than the norm. I liken Jackson to a faster Mariota than anything. Yes he’s 212 pounds but he’s also 21 years old. He has time to put on another 10.

Lamar Jackson, compared to Josh Allen, had higher completion % yards per attempt, adjusted yards per attempt, higher td / int ratio. And that isn't even including his rushing stats.
@brandonneumann52946 жыл бұрын
bsp College stats aren't the end all be all. The NFL is all about potential and tools which Josh Allen has. You'd be stupid to pick Jackson over him
@jmt31166 жыл бұрын
Brandon Smith Jackson is faster, has better mechanics right now, his offense is more complex right now and isn't immature like Allen. Allen is a scrub, he's no Carson Wentz, he's Paxton Lynch, in fact that's an insult to Paxton Lynch. 6th round talent.
@brandonneumann52946 жыл бұрын
JMT I'll trust an NFL scout over some random no name like you. You would pick Jackson with the #1 pick? You gotta be kidding me son
@jmt31166 жыл бұрын
Brandon Smith I'd take him over Allen at least. Allen isn't as far along as Jackson is, I fail to see how he's ranked over him. Jackson is much more athletic and actually had to go through progressions in his offense. He was tremendous with anything outside the hashes, over 25 yards and anything under 15 yards, mid range throws are his issue just like Mark Sanchez and just like Russell Wilson, one fixed it the other didn't. Jackson also has an arm, not as good as Allen but better than Rosen and Darnold, he's got a lot more character than Allen too. He was also one of 11 QBs that had wide receivers drop at least 30 catches. His O-line was bottom 15% of power 5 schools.... I could go on but I won't. If you haven't watched film on Jackson you have no say on what he'll become, enjoy 52% completion and under 2,000 yards from Josh Allen.... Warren Moon was also told to convert to Wide receiver look how that turned out LOL. You're also acting like NFL attention seeking scouts aren't wrong all the time, the tape is available to anyone, you have to watch it with no preconceived notions. I watch 8 hours of tape a week on players just for fun, don't talk down to me lol.
@brandonneumann52946 жыл бұрын
JMT "Enjoy 52% completion and under 2,000 yards from Josh Allen". Yeah bro just keeping mentioning college stats over and over like a zombie. If you want college achievements pick Johnny Manziel and Tim Tebow. Theirs your college stats. Josh Allen is built like a protypical qb which is why he has the potential to go #1. Period end of story I know your butthurt

The thing is, Lamar is putting up gaudy stats. His rushing stats alone would make him a pro bowler if he was a running back, not to mention he threw the most passing touchdowns in the league this past season. Ooooook...Stephen A Smith makes a great point. Living in the age that people are in love with numbers, it makes a great point to show that his numbers are similar to Cam's. Honestly the race thing with quarterbacks is a recurring theme but, most of it is the athleticism to be able to switch positions. With football today though where having a more athletic quarterback is basically a standard and running rpo pass concepts are heavier, it would be brighter to have an athletic quarterback.

In his two full (non-rookie) seasons, Jackson's complletion pct was 66.1% anf 64.1%. He also has, so far in 2-1/2 seasons, a career completion pct of 64.0%. Hmmm. Corrrect me if I'm wrong, but that is above 60%, isn't it?

It's a never ending struggle being a black qb. Pay att to last year's playoffs... They allowed more cheapshots and dirty plays to force them out of the game. Tyrod and cam boath RECEIVED LESS CALLS FOR HITTING TOO HIGH AND TOO LOW

It's ironic Lamar has the highest completion percentage of any qb at the ages of 21 and 22. I knew he was going to be a beast. The naysayers have to bow down now...

Can someone tell me how Lamar’s race is a problem? We’re talking about his style of play. If A white kid was just like him we would be taking about the same things. This has nothing to do with race period. Hate how ESPN loves to drag race into things that have nothing to do with it.

They have been switching black QBs to other positions since before I can remember and its not going to change. No matter how talented he is the black QB will never be suited for the position, hes been coached to play his entire life, at the NFL level. During the 70's and 80's, 90's etc. I remember numerous QBs that if given a chance would have out shined their counterparts if given the opportunity but either they were sent to the CFL, conformed and switch positions or just never played. The NFL and the majority of its viewers were afraid of the Doug Williams that were arriving on the scene. I have always felt Its up to the individual coaches to guide QBs like Lamar to success even if they don't seem to fit their mold of QB. I watched a coach guide to differently styled QBs (although both white) to a SB ring this season now that to me defines a coach and his ability to coach his player. Why can't the same be done with the black QB? Maybe the question mark should be on that of the coach and his ability adapt and teach rather than if that QB can play his position. The Bill Polians/ Archie Bunkers of the world are from an era of thinking that will never see black QBs as viable in the the NFL, there is a fear factor of losing the superiority complex that's involved in their thinking, which in the end would not be a bad thing.

Because the comments r over a year, it's kinda intriguing especially when you look at this kid, and see the ability that he embraces and how a few of these analysts were belittling, but he has shut them down, and we all know 2 well that it was color of his skin which influence their opinions.
