You are spoiling us with all these videos. Came for the sailing, can't wait for the a-Mose-ment park... sorry, couldn't resist.

Careful modifying the AIO, often the pump will be in the water block so you may want to just split one tube to keep the pump in the system. Good luck with your project from Canada!

Thanks!! Good to know! I need to find out the direction of the fluid and all that.. But my idea is to run it through the controller. It's an experiment 😎 if I break a pump I will have to replace it..

I looked at the motor data for the 48 V motor. It shows 10 kW at 3500 RPM with 80 percent efficiency. The prop shaft cannot spin at 3500 RPM. Depending on your prop pitch, it may be more like 1200 or 1500 or something like that. Do you know your prop pitch and diameter? Also boat waterline length and displacement? Matching the motor to the prop is very important. You want to keep the prop and the motor operating in an efficient range.

That's true! I don't have the data on the prop and all. This will be the first bad version that maybe will be good enough! I think that it's not possible to compare the efficiency to an ocean volt or stuff like that. Simplicity and cheapness is my priorities for the moment. :)

You probably need a reduction gear to get max power from the motor. The motor max power is available only at rated RPM. The prop shaft will not want to spin at that RPM.

Yes that's true! I considered it but it was complicated enough for me without :)

@@happygoluckyland one step at a time. At least you have it spinning and driving the boat!

The sort of curve you described is either arithmetic curveo or an exponential curve. See this channel... Fantasia sailings ..latest offering. Does your throttle lever have a positive stop indent so you can tell when you have reached the off point without going straight into reverse accidently. but going slow with a displacement hull is a way of using very little power .. Your sister and the cat seem happy enough with the boat.

Ah ok thank you! I think it's an exponential curve I think of. I just found that channel! Love it! We have the same motor, but I went for a cheaper programmable motor controller. I think theirs is probably more reliable but mine is more experimental 😅 I wanted to be able to experiment with regen to make electricity by sailing and it seems to be working 😊 Yes bot my cat and sister had a good time! ⛵️
