Your video, and me having fish and chips ..... so it must be Friday. Quote of the week "We weren't murdered and we weren't robbed!" from Caroline ... maybe the qoute of your tour. Glad to see the Spitfire T Shirt being used for the beer section, but Iain, you must have bought more than 2 bottles.. Already looking forward to next Friday .... not for fish and chips, but for your video of course.

Thank you Roger 🥰 You know us very well indeed 😂 there were more beers but we only realised we hadn’t filmed them until it was too late and they were well and truly drunk and recycled so not even empty bottles to reference 🍺😂😂😂 next weeks video will be mostly containing sunshine and beer 😁

We we're their in June! The village was a wow moment.

Thanks Adrian, we know exactly what you mean, never experienced anything like it before - very well managed by the French so they are never forgotten 🥰

Great video again 👍 love the way the strength of the beer was very quickly skipped over 😂😂🍻
@VantasticAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dave, apparently the strength of the beer determines the volume of snoring 😂😂😂 Have to sneak the stronger ones in the trolley 😉

Wow, have to start with the end - that Village/Museum was definitely something special to see and makes the grey matter work a little to say the least - amazing and so well persevered and presented. Glad the trip is going well, the Aire looked nice with some good facilities and sounds like a success for Caroline too. Wouldn't be a Vantastic adventure without a 🍺 to 2 😂. Thanks guys and "keep em coming" 👍

Thanks Tim, we were both lost for words wandering around the village, it’s such a sad story but can see exactly why the French have kept it this way and hopefully never see anything happen like it again… Aire was brilliant, can’t wait to try more especially if they all have local beer nearby 😂👍 Lots of proper beers in this area, all natural ingredients too 👍🍺😁

We went there a few years back ,stayed on a campsite, run by a Dutchman , the memorial is very thought provoking and shows the inhumanity of man

It’s a very unique and emotional experience, we were genuinely lost for words so know exactly what you mean Colin. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment 🥰

Just got back from walking the Tour du Mont Blanc. I stayed at an aire in my car over night each way. Had no issues whatsoever, nice facilities and no charge. The set up there for people travelling is amazing compared to the U.K

I'm glad the aire was OK Caroline...wild camping not my thing but that looked not too bad. 😁

Thank you 🥰 it was a pleasant surprise, great for an overnight stop but not somewhere to stay every night, slowly getting braver 😂👍

Interesting experience isn’t it . We have been twice once 15 years ago but revisited this year after reading Max Hastings book Das Reich, it’s an interesting read and details events of Oradour Sur Glane. Glad it worked out with the aire. Best wishes Helen and Martin

Thank you and thanks again for the tip on the Aire, your video helped persuade Caroline it was safe to stay in an Aire 😂👍 It’s such a humbling experience, the civilian loss is so hard to justify…. Thanks for the book reference, will check it out as we bought quite a few in the museum shop and they were very interesting indeed 🥰

The Aire looked really handy and great that it was free.Oradour martyr village is very emotive isn’t - the first time I went I couldn’t believe how moving it was. Great video and took me back. All the best, David & Rachel 👍

Thank you both, it is indeed so moving, incredible atmosphere and such a great job by the French to preserve the memory for future generations 🥰 The Aire was great, definitely one we would recommend and can't wait to try more 😁👍

Hi guys excellent video. That's a lovely area you was in , we have friends that stay close to there and we went over last year. The bit that got to me was in the church. Take care and stay safe. Rob and Jane. R&J

Aw thank you Tim 🥰 it was very humbling experience at both places but great to see the excellent job the French do of preserving the memories ❤️ Hope you enjoyed the lakes, have a lovely weekend 😁👍

The toll booths look much look better organised than the M6. Great idea to pay for only the distance used. I just Googled the term Oxymoron and it gives the example of too much beer 😂 now that Caroline is experienced in Off Grid parking, you should combine two of your loves and start doing pub stops 😂
@VantasticAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Ha ha thank you 😂👍 Pub stops definitely coming soon, great idea thanks 😊

That must of been a very emotional trip to the village. Seen many videos about what happened there, awful to think that human beings can do that to each other !!! On a lighter note love Iain and his beers :-) great blog guys

That aire looked really good, we need more of those in this country. There are a few places in Scotland that have opened aires. That village was so poignant.
@VantasticAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jennifer and we completely agree, it would relieve some of the overbooked campsites and make touring in the uk much more relaxed, hopefully Scotland sets a good example 👍😊 the village was very humbling and really made us both think, very sad but so well preserved by the French

Know what you mean Bob, some of the beers lack any taste below a certain % - check out our recent trip to Bruges Belgium and a brewery tour, some crackers there around 8%

Oh dear, was enjoying the vid until the visit to the Martyr village and I thought - nothing’s changed- look at Ukraine now- just what is wrong with people? How can people do this to each other. Will wars ever stop?
@VantasticAdventures2 жыл бұрын
We said the same thing walking round - you are so right, it really does make you think of the poor people suffering right now too 😢 We think this village should be part of all school curriculum no matter what country you are from as it was a very powerful and moving experience for us even so many years on… one place we will never forget.
