The MREs in the 90s were SOOOO much worse!!! I believe Tabasco used to publish a free publication that had recipes to take certain items from an MRE and made a little cookbook out of it. Things like “Take the crackers from the MRE and crush them up. Heat up the Tuna Noodle casserole in the heater, when done dump the crushed up crackers and “cheese” and add them to the now warm Tuna Noodle Casserole with the bottle of tobacco sauce, stir and enjoy!” It was actually my favorite recipe, and I’d go out of my way to find a Tuna Noodle Casserole MRE. I used to love the Omelette with Ham as well, and would eat it raw right out of the package. The real baller move was to get either Kosher or Vegetarian MREs at the end of my career in the Army as they were a new item, and hadn’t been sitting around for a thousand years.

I heard these aren't too bad, I was on C-Rats my first 1 1/2 years then we switched to the original MREs which had no taste and no good desserts it was nasty, I went to the PX and bought 20 cases of C-Rats ( @ $1.00 a case) to get me through my enlistment.

A Marine told me to save the salt packets and put them in your gums as if it was dip. The sodium gives you electrolytes the closest you’ll get to a Gatorade lmao

Honestly, I already eat the same thing every day and we been doing that since I was little. So I don’t think I’d ever get tired of MRE’s.

Menu 13 torts are the only MRE. Plus points if you are lucky enough to get candy.
