Alanis Morissette started as a Canadian pop star in the 90's, then she debuted in the USA in 1995 w/ an 'alternative rock' sound... This album 'Jagged little pill' was a massive hit, selling over 16 million copies in the US alone, hitting #1 on the charts. It was all over radio and MTV... this was the first single, and it was followed by 'Ironic' ... 'One hand in my pocket' ... 'You live' ... 'Head over feet' . The next Alanis album 'Supposed former infatuation junkie' came out in 1998 and sold 3 million copies, w/ the singles 'Thank you' ... 'So pure'. She had another big single 'Uninvited'... but subsequent records did not sell as much... but she still puts out new music. Her latest record is 'Such pretty forks in the road' in 2020.

"And every time I scratch my nails down someone else's back, I hope you feel it! I hope you feel it!" Has to be one of the most brutal song lyrics ever recorded.

Fkn LOVE Alanis. I was 14 when this came out and every single she released was fire and a complete hit. Definitely check out the rest of her videos from this album at least. Alanis is a brilliant writer/singer. This was her first single and people expected all her music to bel ike this but this was actually the only "angry" song on the album. The rest was pretty chill
