This was Dimash’s very first appearance on The Singer show in 2017 and the audience was told to make him feel welcome. The show is a competition for experienced, professional singers in China. Dimash was invited to participate as a wild card. He was the first foreigner to perform on the show and he was 22 at the time. He became an overnight sensation in China on this performance. This is much better than American Got Talent. This is a show for the best singers to compete each others, not amateur. They invited best singers in different countries, Dimash got invited. He was a wild card, SOS was his first song. His techniques blown them away and he became a sensation over night in China, that make him famous. He thanks China for making him a STAR.

Thank you for reacting to Dimash, and you said his last name just fine. :) This show is a competition show for established singer in Asia. Dimash was invited to do the show as a wildcard contestant. Nobody knew who he was, and because of that he was the first singer on the first episode of the season. They expected he would probably not last long on the show. Well, he fooled them. LOL The video of this show went viral overnight on Weibo with 600 million (not typo there) views. A couple days later he was to film a show documentary at a Chinese bazaar. When he went down to the lobby there were bodyguards there. He was confused the bodyguards were confused, he first thought he had done something wrong, but that wasn't the case. They were there to protect him from the crowd around him. This is the performance that basically started his worldwide career. Saw him live in Latvia last March before lockdown. Two and a half hours of songs in every genre from opera to rap. Dances, directs, composes and is an extremely hardworking, humble, intelligent, charitable person. He is passionate about His country, Hua family, his music and his fans, called dears, He speaks Kazakh and Russian and is getting on very well in English now. Even tries a few phrases in mandarin. . The comp was 2017. He just did a digital concert seen by people from 100 countries. It is reprised on Sunday. He did a concert in New York last Dec attended by 19000 people from 60 different countries. All this without having a hit record in U.S, Us fans usually recommend Sinful Passion next, then Ogni Pietra, Adagio, Opera Two, Love is Like a Dream, Screaming Idol Hits version, Samaltau. He has 100 amazing songs to choose from. Enjoy.

Dimash is the best, this song is one of the 5 hardest songs for any singer to sing; and he "kills" it. I was already familiar with the song first heard close to 30 years ago and it became a favorite; but Dimash took it to a whole different level. If he sings a well known song he makes it his own from then on. Several big known singers can testify to that. He's the best I have ever heard.

This song really hits you deeply and why it makes you tear up because it’s speaking to all of us. He’s singing about the soul wanting to be freed from the lower vibrations of negativity, of earthly things… what an eye opener this man is. Another great song is Ogni Pietra where he’s singing again about the courage to follow your dreams without self doubt and remember that we are all needed on this earth to help our brothers and sisters see the truth. Welcome to Dimash world! You haven’t seen anything jet!!! This is about 1/3 or so what he can do! It's so fun for us "Dears" (that’s what Dimash calls his fans because he loves us as a dear family) to see how people react to him. The guyes is the band in "The Liones" and they sre friends with Dimash know. They sayed he looked like anouther artist Terry Lin and he does they have same kind of voice to. Terry came in later in the show. Some info about Dimash. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 6-7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! He also writs and compose own songs, plays bunch of instruments including Dombra there own Kazakh instrument that has a sound you can’t believe! He also sings in about 12 languages and speaks 3 so far. He is born in 1994. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jazz from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and approved to start his PhD. He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" ( also called "I am a singer" or "The Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500. Dimash Kudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside). They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night. Dimash got many new friends from this show and he said at some point he learned a lot from it to. They lied to him before he signed the contract...he asked if he was gonna compete with children and they saide no! In his world thye dont compete with children. He found out that he was competing with children and one of them from his country that he cheere for and held high regardes to. So he saide that he whanted them to lett the children go throue and for him to stepp off. Some od the judges whent nuts on him. Dimash just stod there sad and hurt that they did like they did. He then sang for his life and they still dident respect him!!! Dimash was the one that acted adult there. Shame of the show that did what they did. So please dont look that show up at reactions. There are so mutch moore videos of the songs he does better and is the hole song on. Also he change the songs slitley every time he sings just so you know! The show is "The Singer" in China 2017. He is the only non Chinese competitor invited to compete. He is 22yrs old here. He is now 26. Most beautiful, and versatile voice you'll ever hear. God given talent is right. The heavens aligned for Dimash to become a legend. He has parents that are professional singers and at 2 he would jump on stage with them to take a bow. At 5 they noticed he had perfect pitch and started him in singing classes with his first performance on stage that year. While other boys dreamed of cars from a young age Dimash dreamed of being a pop star with fans who would appreciate his artistry. He has several degrees in music and is working on his PHd. Doesn’t hurt that he is a humble and kind person that learned these values from his family of which he is very close with. He is also a humanitarian. He is 6 foot 3 and very handsome as well. Hey!! Thanks for reacting to Dimash!! Loved your video! This is a Chinese TV show called "Singer" for established singers from China. Dimash (you said his name perfectly) is from Kazakhstan and when he filmed this episode in January 2017, Dimash was 22 years old. He was known a bit in his home country and had won some major contests but no one in China knew him. As I said before, this show was for established stars in China. So all those people backstage had huge fan bases and already were famous in China. It was kind of a miracle that Dimash got on the show in the first place. The show is by invitation only and the slots are usually only reserved for professional established singers. How Dimash got on the show was a long process and I won't tell that story here but it involved a lot of people between two countries. I honestly don't think they expected Dimash to last long on show. If you look at the promotional stuff they released before the first episode....he wasn't promoted very much. The show is really high quality compared to our American Idol or America's got talent. They have a full orchestra or band that plays for every performance and everyone is really good. There are no judges. The audience that is in attendance that night vote by ballot for their 3 favorite performances. The person who gets the most votes wins the night. The person who receives the least amount of votes after two shows goes home. This show is different in that they keep adding new artists in as they go along and the ones that get eliminated have a chance to come back so.... it's a little complicated. But, it's cool. This performance of SOS that you watched was the first performance of the night on the first episode. So, when he came out on that stage, virtually no one had heard him sing....not the other singers and especially not the audience. Dimash has said that he was pretty nervous though he didn't show it. He had every reason to be when you think about it. He was 22. All ove his competitors were 30 and up who all were award winners in China. He was unknown and they were stars in China. They all spoke Chinese and he didn't understand a word of it. He needed an interpreter the entire season. He was singing an unknown French song while the other contestants were singing songs familiar to the Chinese audience. Odds were completely against him really. But, Dimash smashed it out of the park. He not only won the entire night, he became an instant sensation in China. This video alone got 600 million watches the week it aired. They no longer would allow him out on his own without body guards. And yet, he remained very humble and very grateful and down to earth. He is still that way today. Dimash has a way of endearing himself to people. Even all his fellow contestants began to like him and encourage him or help him when he was sick. Really the whole show was great in my opinion. But, it was the best thing to happen to Dimash. Because, it made him a super star in China, which ultimately allowed him to branch out to gain fans all over the world. Congratulations on your reaction, Dimash is a very humble and simple boy, for what i have read and seen he highly appreciates his roots and exposes them when he can in his presentations. He is very respectful of everyone and kind. He was competing in The World´s Best in 2019 but he retired. This caused annoyance in Rupaul but Dimash was more concerned with leaving the little ones that competed with him frustrated and seeing the level and quality that he has, he would very likely have won. By the way the prize was of 1,000,000.00 dollars.

Name of this show is Singer 2017. One of the most popular reality shows in China. This show is only for invited established professional singers who's already popular in China. Dimash was the exception here. He was not established nor popular in China.....he was unknown in China. He was invited by the producers of this show as an experimental wild card competitor. He didn't stay unknown and unpopular for long in China. This performance was from episode 1. Upon premiere broadcast of this ICONIC PERFORMANCE, Dimash became an instant celebrity that needed bodyguards to get about in China. He hasn't looked back since. This performance was four years ago. I still browse the music videos of Dimash from time to time to see what still store in there. I’m just wondering how much effort and strength Dimash had invested into it, to reach such a powerful voice and the many other talents that he had. Indeed it is really a great work. How he was able to develop such a heights of his talents is really admirable and worth learning and imitating. And it is much more beautiful because he sang it by heart, naturally and at his heart’s content with joyful disposition. The discipline, dedication and high ideals in pursuing his career the best he can is worth imitating not only in our individual professional fields but also in living out our day to day life. His hard work for years is indeed bearing good fruits in abundance. And so my heartfelt congratulations to Dimash and his family and all others who supported him all the way through as a musician. For me as a public listener it counts a lot the personal disposition of the artist and the good content and message of its music. The fact that, he is able to sing his music at maximum or more than 6 octaves with ease and comfort in different languages and in various voices is really amazing. But some others also cannot handle and cannot even believe the power, the strength and the heights of his voice…and they said Ooh… is Dimash human..? Alien..? Etc, I think It’s just a natural reaction that people wonder and be surprise by it or cannot even believed it at all, it’s because it is beyond human expectation. I believed that Dimash 21 year’s cultivation of his voice and talents is no tricks and no magic at all; though he is gifted by God with grace for music but his years of hard work of practice and experiences proved it to us and to the world … that indeed it is possible. My other concern whenever I listen to music is that, I usually ask: WHAT MESSAGE THIS MUSIC BRINGS ..? TO THE WORLD..? TO PEOPLE..? Although Dimash music are very good, full of content and meaning but I like most this music, because for me it speaks a message of truth, values and realities of human life. I feel that, it is not just enough to give my thumbs up to like this music, but I’m deeply moved to share something more about the richness and deeper meaning of it. With due respect to the composers, writers and singers of these music for whatever their purpose and intention would be, will always take precedence. The thoughts that I will be sharing below is only the fruits of my personal reflections based on the things that I highly valued and on how I perceived it myself and the message of this song that reaches out to me. I like this music because it reminds me the Truth, Realities and Precariousness of Human Life particularly Suffering and Death) SONG FACTS: The song is from French Rock Opera called Starmania. Originally it was sung by Daniel Balavoine who had a sudden death in a helicopter accident in 1986, who is known of his beautiful voice. Later, it was covered by Gregory Lemarchal, a young French singer who inspired Dimash to sing “SOS d'un terrien en detresse” who at all odds won the 4th series Reality TV Program Star Academy, despite his failing health and became an overnight success in France but had a shorter career, for he died young with his unusual illness of Cystic Fibrosis in 2007 at the age of 23. Recently it was unbelievably covered by Dimash and from time to time Dimash sung it in memory of his great friend Denis Ten an Olympic figure skater from Kazakhstan who was stabbed after a dispute with people who allegedly tried to steal a mirror from his car in his home city of Almaty. He died of massive blood loss from multiple wounds at the age of 25 in 2018. The song has sad lyrics: “a soul’s plea for help or an earthly being in distress” because it is a human being who is in anguish searching for the absolute. MY THOUGHTS AND OPINION OF THIS SONG (REF CCC): Suffering and death is one of the realities of human life. It is important that we should know the basic truth about it, so that it will not cause us fear and distress in our human life’s , but rather to remind us all of our ultimate destiny as people of faith. For me, there are 3 kinds of suffering we experienced in life: 1st suffering that God allows, 2nd suffering which is the results of our own choices and decisions and 3rd is the suffering which is cause by other people to us. In whatever forms of suffering we are experiencing, know that, if it is discerned well it will gain us eternal merit. Note that, it is not important how much and how long we suffer, or who cause us to suffer, but how is our attitude towards it when it comes into our life…? All of these three can be an opportunity of grace that we will grow in virtue, when we accept it with humility, discernment and faith in God. Our usual human tendency is, if we can, we try to avoid any kind of pain and suffering in our life. However we can’t deny also that life is mixed up of many learning experiences both in joys and in difficulties and I supposed we need it both, because it contributes and helps us mature and grow over time in many aspects of life. Suffering and death may seem contrary to our own human thinking or world’s way of thinking but in it, there’s a certain wisdom which is richer and deeper that no one can fully understand. Suffering reminds us the real fact that we are all fragile human beings; that we are limited and we are not God. Sufferings are human reality and consequences of sin that affects us all. It helps us see the real worth and value of things and meaning in life. It sharpens our awareness that this earth is not our permanent and true home. We should remember that we are only strangers and pilgrims on this earth”. Suffering purifies and refines us of any life’s superficiality into an authentic one. Though no one really is actively searching for suffering in his / her life, but honestly truth compels us to admit that sufferings do have a great value in our life and by experiencing it personally in reality, you will never be the same person. But through the original sin that enters human lives, our nature has been wounded, and is now subject to suffering and death. This was not part of God’s original plan, but now is already part of our human lives reality. Death for us is a frightening mystery because we are being stripped off of all our attachments to this world; our body lies corrupt; our immortal soul goes to meet the Lord. We will see the whole truth of our lives, and we will face God’s judgment. Death creates in us a feelings and emotion of fear, separation, sadness and pain. Many times we evade this reality and we try to question and even argue with God why…? But all our efforts failed because whether we like it or not at the end, we all die. Death comes in our life anytime anywhere. No material things, good health, young age can guarantee of its extension. The truth is… in front of death we are all poor and powerless. If this life were the only one we had, death would definitely be the great tragedy. Death is such a peaceful, joyful event in our life, if we die reconciled with God and at peace with others as well. Death is unknown to all of us, therefore, it is best that we should prepare at all times. This is Dimash's first performance on The Singer, a contest between professionals. The show is in China and Dimash was invited as the wild card. I started watching at the third show after seeing a claim that he was the best singer in the world. It was hard to have to wait till the next Friday to see his next performance. I would be on the edge of my chair. 4 years later, Dimash now famous worldwide, still surprises and never disappoints.

Dimash is a phenomenon from Kazakhstan, he started singing lessons and 5 when it was found he has perfect pitch. He is university educated with degrees in classical opera, another in contemporary music, pop and jazz with a major in vocal. He also completed a Broadway musical masterclass and has just (18th June 2020) completed his Masters specialising in Composition, and receiving his Masters degree with Honours, having achieved the maximum score of 100% and has just started his PhD. His range is over 6 octaves (almost 7 now) but Dimash is dismissive and says it's not how big your range is but what you do with it. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a very hard language to learn but again he is doing well with it. In this performance ( Nothing like AGT or A Idol ) he was 22 and in an invitation only competition for famous professional singers in China called I am Singer. He was invited as a wildcard and after this one song was catapulted to stardom and is now a pop superstar in China. He is now also famous in Russia mainly for his neo classical work with Igor Krutoy and many of those works are very operatic. His vocals range from a rich bass baritone through to an extremely high soprano and his whistle register has hit a D8 for 5 seconds with vibrato. He is on a solo world tour tight now and in his concerts he sings for around 3 hours with an eclectic mix of styles. He is from a very musical family both parents and his sister sing, mother is a soprano. Dimash was offered a place with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down to follow his own path and he has been very successful thus far, but I suspect world domination will soon come his way. He is a multi instrumentalist too and is very competent with 8 instruments but can play just about anything. He is 26 now, and is mostly known as a live performer, he has released a triple platinum album ( platinum in 37 seconds, triple platinum in under an hour). It has been recognised that his high notes are not whistle, but head voice, Dimash rarely uses his whistle register but when he does its spectacular like everything else about him. He has billions of fans worldwide and I am definitely one of them, and he calls us his Dears, as we are all as dear to him as his family, and he means it, he knows who helped to make him famous. He is a softly spoken, polite, elegant and very humble respectful young man. He deserves every bit of the success he is having, he has worked very hard for the past 20 plus years and now his dreams as a young 5 year old are coming true. There is an interview he did for BBC World Service in 2018 where the interviewer showed a drawing he did when he was 5 of him singing on a big stage with microphones, speakers and his beloved music cassettes showing his desire to be where he is now. His recent sellout world tour has been postponed due to the covid-19 epidemic but will restart when its safe to do so. He has concerts lined up in Dusseldorf, Prague and Minsk there will be others. This is a Chinese show for famous professional singers. Dimash is from Kazakhstan, the audience (who are all from the music industry and are the 500 judges) and the other contestants had never heard Dimash sing before. The audience were just told to give him a warm welcome because he was a foreigner and the youngest ever contestant in the history of the show and he was the first up to sing in that season (2017). He became an overnight superstar in China when the show aired with 600 million downloads, on their equivalent to our social media. The producer of the show invited him to compete as a wildcard when he heard Dimash sing for the Chinese President. Dimash came second overall, but we think that may have been because it’s a state run show and they couldn’t really have a foreigner winning! The winner of the show said it should have been Dimash. They must have changed the rules for 2018 though (backlash? I’m not sure?) because a Brit won the show. Now Dimash is a worldwide star, but still we in the west are a little late to the party! Dimash is THE best vocalist/performer of ALL time and I’m sure you will realise that that is indeed the case when you react to more of his amazing performances! He is a very humble person and if I didn’t know he was a Muslim, you could easily mistake him for a born again Christian since he has biblical values. Hopefully Jesus has Dimash well and truly in his sights! I just pray the US music industry keep their mitts off him....Dimash is fairly well grounded though, I don’t think he would agree to anything immoral. He was set to win The World’s Best TV shown in the US but he dropped out in the semi finals (at great financial cost to himself as he undoubtedly would have won), because the producers lied to him when they said he wouldn’t have to compete against children. He was going to be up against two children in the final. They of course treated Dimash badly for standing up for his principles. I expect that they saw all the money they undoubtedly were going to make from him, going down the drain in an instant! So a word of warning, please never react to Dimash on The World’s Best Show. Most of the Dimash ‘dears’ (fans) refuse to watch them! Mainly because of the way he was treated but also because they chop up the performances and don’t do Dimash any justice at all! Dimash was an exception being the only foreign competitor and from Kazakhstan. He was invited as a wildcard. He’s been classically trained since the age of 5. Was offered a place at an opera company but decided to do his own thing. He sings all genres of music in 12 languages. Plays multiple instruments and is currently studying for his PHD in musical composition. He comes from a very talented musical family and is very humble and intelligent. Glad you have discovered Dimash! He is considered by many to be the best singer in the world today. This competition is called “The Singer”, and it’s a grueling 14 week competition. Every 2 weeks, 2 singers get voted out and 2 new ones come in. The judges are the audience, who are all involved in some way in the music world. Dimash was unknown when he stepped on that platform this day. He had won competitions in Kazakhstan but not in China. The director had heard of him and decided to add him to the line up as a wild card. The audience had been told to welcome him warmly, but they didn’t know him. That changed in the 3 minutes he took to sing the song!!! He became a star overnight and woke up the next morning needing bodyguards. Dimash is one of the few who stayed for the whole 14 weeks of the competition (and you will find every episode on KZbin), and ended up in second place (probably a political given in China), but first in everyone’s heart. He spent the next 3 years in China and then in Russia performing in many of the most important events in those countries. He gave a sold out concert in NY city in Dec 2019, and was on a European tour when Covid stopped everything. This was only a small sample of what he can do. He has been trained since he was 5 years old in music and singing; his formal training is opera, and he was offered a position at the Astana opera (he is from Kazakhstan), but declined because he wanted to explore his own way. He describes his style as “Neo-Classical”, and within one song he will use techniques from Opera, Bel Canto, Pop, Rock and can go from an A2 to D8, a 6+ octave range. Every song is a masterpiece, Dimash can spend weeks perfecting it; he also gets directly involved with the music arrangements and he can be quite obstinate to get exactly what he wants. Despite his youth, Dimash is a deep philosopher and a very good person, generous, humble and very respectful of his elders. He has won so many awards, his Wikipedia page is “that” long...
