It's true though I guess. We're all gonna be Old Troubadours at some point. Now if you like some indie country check out the Turnpike Troubadours Good Lord Lorie. One other really underground like country band that just can't seem to make a bad song is Casey Donahew Band if you like country and you haven't heard them check them out. Start with double wide dream or white trash story for some goofy music and Angel or Fallen for more serious music. Every single song of theirs Is pretty dang good.

Alabama is Country Music's most successful Group of all time and is up there across the board. George Strait has had 50 #1 hits and not too far behind is Alabama with 41 # 1 hits as a side note _ Early in their Career Alabama had 21 consecutive #1 hits. As far as I know - no other music artist has accomplished this feat.

Two of my favorite songs from George are Amarillo by Morning and All my Exes Live in Texas. George was born and raised in South Texas near San Antonio and he still lives there. He is a genuine person. Acknowledged by most country fans as the current king of country music. Everyone loves George. He was also a calf roper in the rodeo . He also starred in the movie Pure Country. The thing I like about this song is that he did not screw up the original arrangement. A great song by Brooks and Dunn is Believe. The official video is the best.

George and Clay Walker made their careers here in the Beaumont area. My mom was friends with both of them back in the early days. Clay's parents had a huge ranch that he bought for them along 105 between Sour Lake and Beaumont, but it seems like they've either sold it or don't keep it up/pay someone to anymore. I haven't seen any cattle or bison there in years (they used to have HERDS of bison, up until about 3 years ago). But I will confirm that they are both great guys. I haven't seen George since I was a kid almost 30 years ago, but I remember him being a super nice guy. Just "warm" as a personality, ya know?

I lived in Nashville for a long time, and I can tell you the Japanese bought all the recording studios and they changed music row to a pop rock sound instead of true country.

In 2004 George released his 50 #1's album, which I have and love to listen to all the cuts from it. It is great for long road trips as "highway music." Just imagine that 17 years ago he already had 50 songs that reached #1 on the charts. That album also had the new song "I Hate Everything" included, and it became his 51st #1 that same year. Down here in Texas when George strait does the rodeo he is one of the only people that have to be scheduled for more than one day because any day he plays he sells out almost immediately including standing room. Not a inch is not filled.

My mom had the George strait box set. Called strait out the box. "Carrying your love with me" is a good song. "Check yes or no" You really can't go wrong with George

That is Brooks and Dunn's song. Country artist were paying tribute to Brooks and Dunn that night and George chose that song to sing. But George strait is the king of country and my all-time favorite country singer. 60 number one hits more than any other artist in any other genre of music. He's packed more people in a stadium than any one individual ever in history. 106,000 people. He's a real cowboy. His belt buckle was earned by being a professional team roper. The list goes on of why I admire this man.

Fun fact ab George straight he did a movie in the 90’s I believe called pure country. He had a love interest during the movie and requested because of his marriage that he not kiss her during the movie. It’s a great movie but it also shows his values a bit. Kinda interesting

I grew up on this type of country music, and as I've grown up my music tastes have changed drastically. But even then, Brookes & Dunn hold a special place in my heart. They are an amazing Duo. I'm personally an agnostic/atheist, but their song "I believe" was the first song to make me cry. My mom absolutely LOVES George Strait. He is forever the biggest name in country music, bar none. He is a true super star in the country scene, and is, now days, considered a pillar of country music. I want to say he was the first one to really "modernize" the country sound, and is the direct reason why country music as whole shifted gears towards a certain direction. Modern country is trash, imo. But nothing beats George.

Oh King George was definitely made for country music. 60 #1 songs. 1 Grammy. 4 American Music Awards, 15 Country Music Awards (3 being Entertainer of the Year), 8 Academy of Country Music Awards. He's in the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame....AND he has some of the best songs you will ever hear! Yes, you really must give King George a listen or two. I've got too many favorites to recommend. I've been a fan since he first hit the radio in the 80's.

This one hits home in a different way for me, growing up I was always a singer and fell in love with near all kinds of music but none moreso than Country. My Grandma had a cassette tape of me performing this song at 7 yrs old until the day she passed. Another of George Straight's songs that is really fun is "The Fireman", enjoy 😃💗

"Give Them Flowers While They Are Alive To Get Them" ...YES!!! As a young man I attended a funeral where the diseased while not a close friend, but, I still knew her. I sent a small arrangement, which was I felt was correct considering our limited friendship ... While I was waiting for the service to begin, I overheard some one admonish some one who I guess was a close friend but did not send flowers to the funeral... His retort was I sent her flower while she was alive... This has stuck with mu all of my life and have acted accordingly ever since,,,
