Pit of Consciousness is right at the top of the list for me but they have so many great songs it's hard to choose.

Jinjer is incredible both in studio and live. No bad songs in their catalog that spans 4 full length albums and 2 EPs. They've released 4 singles from their next album that drops 2/7/25. They've become much more technical and progressive since Vlad (drummer) joined the band in 2016. But for me, the main draw is Tatiana. She's unmatched in metal for what she can do vocally, melodically, and as a song writer. She makes the harsh, growl vocals seem easy and natural whereas most female singers in this genre sound shrill or the growls extremely forced to the point it's unlistenable. Her cleans also have an amazing tonality to them that mixes extremely well with the harshes and the progressive music behind it. Anyway, I could go on forever about this band.

Yes, 2 fish, swimming in opposite directions. Duality is the right word, the duality of Pisces. This live session is a redone version of an older song. The purpose was to showcase Vlad on drums, who had joined not long before this. He is classically trained on piano and self taught on drums. But it went viral because of her vocals. Yes, there is post production with vocal layers, but that is all her. She cites Otep and Randy Blythe(Lamb of God) as big harsh vocal influences. For the clean vocals, she is a Gwen Stefani fan. Roman , Eugene , and Vlad compose the music, Tati writes most of the lyrics. Though Eugene helped her on this song, as both are Pisces. From the 2nd album, King of Everything. Most want to see her do it live next, so we usually suggest "Perennial" live at Wacken 2019, "Pit of Consciousness" live in Kiev, or "Who Is Gonna Be the One" (Official live). Their 5th album is due out in Feb, 4 singles are out so far, with "Someone's Daughter' being the lead single, the newest is "Green Serpent". Some other songs that get a lot of recommendations: "Teacher

Jinjer and Meshuggah are classic djent bands. If you want djent, find the video of Meshuggah's "Bleed" featuring Tomas Haake on drums- it is incredible. As to Jinjer, what a band! Everyone is at the top of their game, and Tati is by far the best frontman or woman in rock. You cannot take your eyes off of her. In this video, there was some post-production work, but Tati does this easily live. Find her one take of Judgement and Punishment to really see her sing- or watch Who is Gonna Be the One live.

So basically a live session starts with everyone in the room playing but usually doesn't end with that. So once those individual instruments are recorded together the project can go through the same process as any other recording. Including additional parts and mixing and mastering. I think the thickening at the end of the first two verses is just a doubling delay that can be done in real-time however probably not in this case.
@johnbriggs39168 күн бұрын
"Live Session" is a complete misnomer for what happened here -- what we are seeing is a music video filmed in a recording studio. But it is understandable, as this re-recording had to be differentiated from the album track, and the album track had actually been the first single released from the album, although without a video.

You have chosen the worst possible moment to start reacting to Jinjer! Not only are you a long way behind (this song is from their 2nd album "King of Everything" -- although this is not the album track) but they are in the middle of dropping singles from their forthcoming (7 February) 5th album "Duel"! At the moment we are awash with reactions to the video for their latest single "Green Serpent" -- venture there if you dare!
