I love that one, she was such a wonder at 12-13 years old! She still is, though.

She won the Masked Singer a few years ago as the Sun. The compilation of her performances is worth watching, particularly her last song on the show, The Story.

A great song written by Bill Mack in 1958 to be sung by Patsy Cline who passed before she could. Bill heard LeAnn singing at age 12 (?) and knew this was for her. Yes! Your suspicion is well found. In the 1950's both Country and the Blues was played by the " Big Band" players where you also have Jazz and Swing. Genres mingled. Great song. Great Reaction RND! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎🎸🤟🏼

LeAnn is a sweety with a great voice and look. Hope you like her. This a fifties era, bobby sox and poodle skirt tune covered in a new era.

From WWII documentaries I heard something similar, with that style of singing. Excellent music, singing, lyrics, that's why they are musical styles that come back. Greetings from Peru.

You are correct there are blues and jazz elements in the music. The roots of U.S. "country music" come from very rural southeastern United States mountain-region folk music, but there were also very early influences from blues and African American folk-type music as well. In the United States, jazz has influenced virtually every other genre of music to some extent. Many of the early settlers in the southeastern United States, particularly in the mountainous regions of the Appalachians were people of Scottish/Irish descent which contributed to the development of very unique phonics and speech patterns many of which produce very noticeable and distinctive sounds in music vocals. There is also a lot of use of a technique called "vocal cry" in country music as well. All of these things, and more contribute to the unique sound of U.S. country music.

I can't wait to see her in concert in January. And it's at a small venue that has really good acoustics!

I would put it this way. Definitely the style of country music. The instruments, vocals, arrangement are pure country. But lyrically, emotionally the feel of the song is blues. So sounds country feels blues? Hey, as someone once said ,even cowboys get the blues. By the way LeAnn’s mother and my older sister were best friends through high school (late sixties) and beyond. Her mom was over at our house often. Looking back at that time it is strange thinking what life had in store.

Great reaction, Rere! LeAnn's voice in this song is very reminiscent of singer Patsy Cline. You will have to react to her also! I absolutely love the variety you are putting out on your channel!

She looked and sounded too good for a 13 year old! I saw her live front row seats when she was 18!

It's a relatively recent recording---well maybe 20 years old but definitely "old or traditional country as opposed to the current records. Her voice is amazing but listen also to the pedal steel guitar which is beautifully played.

This was released in 1996 - she did not write this song so she is not "talking about" anything - she is just singing someone's song - sometimes a little research would help - this is all country - blues has to do with the scales the songs are played on and jazz is a whole different genre

I hate genres but to me this was a country song and I never paid much attention to it till I heard a young woman named Haley do it on a reality show kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIqmoqKtqr51a6s and I have been a huge fan of Haley ever since.
