you don’t expect to hear it in this form though, through just a sad ballad that opened up as an acapella song. it was the first real lyrics of the song and he said it in a more powerful sense than songs like that where they mix in other things that make it seem more appropriate to say that. those lyrics do come very out of the blue and everytime i’m around someone who doesn’t listen to it often and it comes on they always look shocked. it’s not their skin color, it’s genuine shocking lyrics to hear regardless of who you are or what stereotypes are attached to you. music is universal.

I didn’t *fully* hear it until after the movie lol, sad, I know, as it’s a beautiful song. A lot of people don’t realize that not everyone grows up listening to this kind of music. I grew up in a Hispanic household so surely no one in my family was a Queen fan nor are they now because they didn’t grow up listening to and don’t know either.
