We were spoiled. We had such great music. Now they have plastic music done with auto tune and studio tricks and computerized instruments. Nothing is real. the writing is not real. the singing is not. I think that is why reaction videos are so popular. The younger generations are looking for reality and real music. Not fake.

Carlos Santana's been around forever, master of Latin blues-rock guitar, mixes in some jazz and pop and whatever he wants. Abraxas was huge break thru album way back in 1970ish. Black Magic Woman and Oyo Como Va were both hits from it, and Samba Pa Ti is another classic from it that any Santana fan knows and loves. Try those out, you'll probably love them, then do the whole album (and Santana III next)

I am Hispanic and I will explain it to you: Santana was born in the U.S. but it has Mexican roots. The song uses instruments such as the Conga, Timbales, Cencerro and the Güiro, they are instruments that are used to make Salsa (Latin Genre) but specifically it is Cuban. It is a Salsa mixed with Latin Rock but sung in English. As for Santana's guitar playing, the core of his sound comes from Latin Blues, since while American Blues tends to be more aggressive and loud when played, Latin Blues is more fluid, more refreshing, more exciting, the climate in Latin America has a lot, Let's see since it is more Sun, Beach, Summer (Good weather) and that greatly influences the musical genres. You can play other of their songs like Black Magic Woman or Soul Sacrifice, as well as songs in Spanish like Oye Como Va, Samba Pa Ti or Corazón Espinado.

Yeah, you called it pretty accurately. Carlos Santana is Mexican or American/Mexican (not sure of nationality, pretty sure he was from Mexico) and his latin guitar vibes are pretty legendary and have been since Woodstock. This was an unexpected collaboration with Rob Thomas, who I don't know much about, except he's done other collaborations and is/was lead singer with an American band called Matchbox Twenty - but this combo worked a treat and it was a pretty big hit in '99. If you want more Santana, "Black Magic Woman" is a must (Abraxas is quite an album), his cover of the Zombies song, "She's Not There" is good (or you could listen to The Zombies' original version), or you could go for the collab with Michelle Branch, "The Game of Love", which was 2002 I think. If you're listening to 90s music, have you listened to any Alanis Morissette yet? Her Jagged Little Pill album is arguably the best 90s album by anyone! "You Oughta Know" is what we heard first, and you should hear first, as it will blow you away on its own and set you up for the rest. It was followed by "Hand In My Pocket" and "Ironic" and a few others, or you could follow with an album track like "Forgiven" or "Not The Doctor."
