Incredible singer, and incredible songwriter in her own right. Very diverse artist as well. Many many great songs and albums. Highly recommend other songs of hers: Troy, Black Boys on Mopeds, Fire on Babylon, Three Babies, Sacrifice, Last Day of Our Acquaintance… list goes on and on. Hope you go down the Sinead rabbit hole, it’s quite a journey. :)

Yes I started listing to her when I was married and having my first child in 1990. I was blown away ! Got the first album. I highly recommend listing to that from the first. And after I've heard more of he music and her life. I'm 100% convinced that she has been a victim of narcissistic abuse all her life, just as I have been.

Amazing song written by Prince. Sinead did meet him, but she says they didn’t get along. Her intense pain seems very real in this video and sadly Sinead’s life has been very tragic. My heart breaks for her.

Sadly Sinead is no longer with us - she passed away yesterday 25th of July at 56 years of age - found unresponsive in her London home - her young son passed away recently - they are together again now....! Her Heart & Soul will live with us forever through her music - RIP Sinead O'Connor....! 🌹🌹

Great pick Stan! I've always loved this Prince song and she does it right. Please check out the acapella group VoicePlay singing "The Dragon Born Comes", a cover from the video game Skyrim. They are very theatrical and get into costume like the players in this fantasy game. Bass singer Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci starts it off with a very low bass growl that really gets your attention. Sinead had a very troubled upbringing - she was abused by her mother - spent time in a detention centre as a teenager....! Producers wanted to sex her up - but she rebelled by shaving her head and being herself....! When she covered this song her mother had recently died in a car crash - she still loved her mother regardless of the past - and this is where the emotion in this beautiful cover comes from...! - RIP Sinead...!

This is a beautiful but heart wrenching song. Her Mother committed suicide when she was little. The lyrics get a bit weird midway. She makes it sound like she lost her significant other. But it’s about her significant other. Perhaps that was because it’d make the song more marketable. That’s the theory anyway. Her voice is incomparable.
