This was a song of inspiration and hope for families at a time when they were losing loved ones in the Viet Nam War. It was sung on many variety shows but this may be the most beautiful and moving version. Thank you for your wonderful reaction. I think I need a tissue right now.

This song was written by Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein in the 1950's for the Broadway Musical, "Carousel". It was about a woman who's husband had just been killed and she had a small child to raise. "Walk on with hope in your heart and you'll never walk alone"

Ah! Not a gospel song: this is a secular show song from a musical. Non-godly so it is popular with people who worship soccer as their religion with various teams as their denominations. Football managers are their archbishops and players are their priests. In UK, a former player on BBC is their professor commentator on football theology, willing to analyse every aspect of a match. The Righteous Brothers (Bill Medley & the late Bobby Hatfield) had a string of hits. Well worth the listen are their songs "You've lost the lovin' feelin;" and "Soul & Inspiration" among them. Bill Medley also sang "Time of my Life" in the movie Dirty Dancing. "You'll Never Walk Alone" is sung by Shirley Jones in the 1956 movie Carousel .
