OMG, thank you for playing this beautiful song by my guys. I was in high school when they came out in 1964. You need to listen to their other hit songs. They're so awesome together , but Bobby Hatfield sings his songs with his beautiful voice. RIP Bobby. We miss you! 💖

This was a song of inspiration and hope for families at a time when they were losing loved ones in the Viet Nam War. It was sung on many variety shows but this may be the most beautiful and moving version. Thank you for your wonderful reaction. I think I need a tissue right now.

Great rendition of a great song written by Rogers and Hammerstein for the 1955 movie Carousel. I believe this was in 1965.

Slight correction on my above message, it was a 1945 movie Carousel, not 1955.

This song was written by Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein in the 1950's for the Broadway Musical, "Carousel". It was about a woman who's husband had just been killed and she had a small child to raise. "Walk on with hope in your heart and you'll never walk alone"

Ah! Not a gospel song: this is a secular show song from a musical. Non-godly so it is popular with people who worship soccer as their religion with various teams as their denominations. Football managers are their archbishops and players are their priests. In UK, a former player on BBC is their professor commentator on football theology, willing to analyse every aspect of a match. Wembley Stadium is their Westminster Abbey where kings of soccer are crowned. Lionesses lnow bring women to the game

The Righteous Brothers (Bill Medley & the late Bobby Hatfield) had a string of hits. Well worth the listen are their songs "You've lost the lovin' feelin;" and "Soul & Inspiration" among them. Bill Medley also sang "Time of my Life" in the movie Dirty Dancing. "You'll Never Walk Alone" is sung by Shirley Jones in the 1956 movie Carousel .

I have always loved this song! I sang the alto part of this in a concert in the early 60’s in my HS glee club. It’s hard to sing and fight back tears at the same time. 😱😱

liverpool fans (the kop) were singing that song back in the 60's after Gerry Marsden (Gerry and the Pacemakers) released it as a single. Long before the Hillsbourgh disaster. It was taken from a broadway show

This song was written by the super famous Rodgers and Hammerstein. It was written for a very popular musical in the 50's, "Carousel". Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote gorgeous music--so many classic hits--to mention just a few; "Some Enchanted Evening" "Something Wonderful", the entire score to "The Sound Of Music" "Cinderella" "The King and I" and on and on.

Not sure if you reacted yet to them singing "You Lost That Loving Feeling" on the Shindig TV show (they were regulars there from 1964-1966) or "Soul and Inspiration" from the Hullabaloo TV show but they are a must listen to performances by this fantastic duo. I subscribed.

You'll Never Walk Alone was written by Oscar Hammerstein II and composed by Richard Rodgers for their musical Carousel, which was released in the USA in 1945. In the musical it was to give comfort and encouragement to a woman whose husband died in her arms.

Liverpool regard this song as their Anthem and to show respect to the victims of the Hillsborough Stadium Fire tragedy. Mostly crush injuries than burns due wire fences preventing fans getting onto the field. It was originally written for the Musical Carousel.
