Yess! She wrote two songs with him on the Emancipation of Mimi album! The other song is called “I wish you knew” it has a similar vibe. This was like an official “comeback” moment for her since all the projects she did right before this album came out (Glitter, Charmbracelet, and Rainbow) weren’t the most commercially successful albums although there were still hit songs on those.

I think a lot of people talk bad about Glitter because of the box office sales but it was literally released on 9/11 and it wasn’t supported with a big or experienced production team. And also people were talking bad about Mariah’s mental health too

Wow I had no idea it was released on 9/11! Thank you for that info. I first saw it on DVD it was a 2-Disc and I instantly fell in love with that movie! I know the words to most of the songs to this day 😂

One thing about Mariah is unless it’s a cover then Mariah wrote it and 90% of the time she produced it as well. And fly like a bird is Mariah’s song x

This song is about faith and she’s talking to God. It’s a spiritual song and she totally nailed it! There’s nobody better than Mariah Carey!! This song is from the Emancipation of Mimi album from 2005. ❤

If ur interested in reacting to some of her songs, here are her best live performances.. -Vision of love live ate Tokyo Dome 1996 -Vision of love live at Oprah show 1992 -Vision of love live at Apollo Theater or Wogan or SNL 1990 (all her performances of 1990 of this song sound identical and they’re INSANELY good😭) (i recommended the same song throughout diff years cuz she ALWAYS changes it up so much so that it sounds like completely diff songs depending on the year the performance is from but one thing they ALL have in common is she always goes ABOVE AND BEYOND vocally in this song cuz it’s her debut song so it’s obviously special to her) -Make it Happen live at Madison Square Garden 1995 -If It’s Over live at Grammys 1992 -Vanishing SNL rehearsal 1990 -Vanishing live at Madison Square Garden 1993 -Emotions live at MTV Unplugged (Now a little disclaimer, for some of these performances she actually has BETTER live performances BUT they’re rlly bad quality so I didn’t mention them, however if ur interested I’ll definitely put them on here too) (also if you’d rather listen to her studio songs first lmk too so I can tell u her best studio songs vocally)

@@Mariahs5thOctave that’s because her best performances of the 2000s are often not the best quality smart guy💀. Not only that but I wasn’t about to list THAT many performances, if I truly did recommend every best one, the comment would never end💀. But fun fact her best performance of Vision of love is arguably not even from the 90s, I’d say it’s live at Zurich in 2003, but guess what, that performance looks and sounds like it was recorded on a toaster, which is why I didn’t recommend it. She has so many good moments, 2013 and 2014 also had amazing moments, but again, I’m not about to sit here n list recommendations all day. Hence I said if they wanted me to list more then I MOST DEFINITELY COULD IN ANOTHER COMMENT. Reading is key.

I believe the pastor's name was Hezekiah Walker . He's founder and Senior Pastor of The Love Fellowship Tabernacle Church , originally in Brooklyn NY. He is her pastor, she's a member & he's also on the Track (track 14 , Emancipation of Mimi )
