There are some weird things Mexican do, and especially for some of the stranger aspects of Mexico. In this video, I points out the weirdest and strangest things about Mexican culture in various aspects and much more in comparison to most of Asian countries, mainly in southeast Asia, particularly, in Thailand where i am from

they love.. no, they are obsessed with their local folk music like when they play music on their phones, their cars, the bar, everywhere! it's the mexican music playing! not that it's bad but that does not happen anywhere else. I just absolutely admire how much they appreciate their homegrown music and talents.

This video is so good for many different reasons. First, it’s the cinematography, you have a great skills in presenting a story through film. Second, the culture shocks are spot on. In 2018 we visited Thailand for our honeymoon and we picked the habit of leaving our shoes outside before entering the home. Believe it or not Some Mexicans find it disrespectful if you ask them to leave their shoes outside before entering your home. One thing we found interesting from Thailand was that most establishments had a picture of the king and also money can never be on the floor because the kings image is on it. What we really loved about Thailand was their delicious spicy food. In the south of Thailand we felt special showing off our spicy food tolerance 😂. Great video! Look forward to more cultural experiences during your time in Mexico. Tell Karencita and Dave we said hi!

I was with a tour group in Vang Vieng, Laos. The hotel required we remove our shoes when we enter. As you can imagine that can really become annoying after a while. So one day I happen to see one of the guys who was staying at the hotel walking down the street bare feet. No need to remove his shoes because he was not wearing any.

Thanks Tah for another excellent video. I'm married to an Ecuadorian and understand many of your "culture shock" experiences. For starters Sofia showed up late for our first date and I almost left without meeting her. Fortunately, I stayed and 16 years later we remain happily married. But, after many years in the US, she has become accustomed to being on time and now finds it frustrating when people aren't in Latin America. For example, we were staying with the family of her bestie in Colombia and had made a plan of places to go to with them. But our hosts got distracted with other stuff and we never even made it out of the house. S was pissed lol.

"Ahorita vengo " messed me up so much in the beginning of living in Mexico. One day my wife told me that going to the restroom. And I waited and waited and waited until she came back. She said she saw some clothes in a store and wanted to try them out. Beeing Swiss I had to learn all these special things you also encountered. But now I am fine with it. Wish I could emerge myself to Thai culture also. I think everybody should should be learning how to accept other countries unknowns. Keep blogging Tah, go explore. 🙏

Some interesting things here. I Canada there is some similar things. Like if someone is offering their product to you and you don't want it we just no thanks or just looking. Shoes in the house depends on the house. I am use to taking my shoes off when entering and I always ask cause some will say oh no don't take your shoes off. We also will wave to someone that stops to let us cross the street it is more like a friendly wave. It is always good to learn something new and this is one reason I watch videos to know something about the country I will visit. Will be waiting for your next adventure. Keep smiling and stay safe

I know this video is about differences but as I am currently in Thailand and was in Mexico a few months ago, I have to say the similarity with putting chili and lime (like tajin or different variations of) on different fruits are almost identical! I thought about this and I thought is it bc of the geography or the climate but I guess I'm trying to figure out my theory but still very interesting!

It is always nice to see your videos they are nice.I also must say, that in Finland if you go to peoples homes it is normal, that we take our shoes of,when we are inside the house. That is usually done immediately after coming in from the door of the home and also in Finland, when people let you walk over the pedestrian crossing we wave our hand to the person who did stop the car to let people walk to the other side of the road. You fan from Finland.

Lol “Don’t do that to me, Karen” I’m kinda Mexican (Chicano, to be precise) and I really liked the critical honesty of this video. It doesn’t worry about being offensive or saying something that might ruffle peoples feathers, and I think the narrator is able to get away with this and pull it off poignantly because there’s no Intentions to criticize just to feel superior. (*cough* U.S.A *cough*) I still don’t fully get what “evergreen” is or means yet, but something in me clicked after seeing this and now I see why this kinda content is so relevant in today’s noisy media. Maybe you can understand better the "thanks" with your hand if you notice the hat you are wearing. As you have seen in movies, people used to wear hats in the past and usually they touch it slightly and bend their head at the same time. Well, the movement with your hand is very similar, is like if you were wearing an invisible hat and bending your head.

I have to add my opinion being an American and having lived in Phrakhanong On Nut in Bangkom. Growing up in LA with a lot of Mexican friends and many trips to Mexico with a decent understanding of Spanish. Aroy or Aroy Mak for Delicious, Sawadee for Hello and Kra Pun kap is widely used but maybe not while passing people on the street definitely not pardon, lo siento, discuple or excuse me. I honestly don't know of a word in Thai as same goes for sneezing. Ahora is similar to Thais stating Soon. Except for train and Airplanes schedules the bus, taxi, friends meeting is 9pm as an example, but when late you will be there Soon or Raou. Cactus would be similar to Papaya, Mango, Watermelon and Pineapple. Most know that few stop for lights or give pedestrians the right of way in Asia. Even in the small Soi in major cities the people cross with their life. Its a polite way, but exists in most countries. The major cities are less polite than the smaller cities. Lifestyle is different, more relaxed and respect. Comparable to Island Lifestyle in the South for some areas of Mexico and while Bangkok is similar to the major cities. While lifestyle is probably even more important than major US cities.
